NOT Losing Weight anymore and Trying sooo hard

HI all,

Everytime I've needed support or advice this board has helped me so I'm hoping someone has some insight to help me now :-)

feeling miserable because I havent lost weight in over a week. I work out everyday and still have a little restriction. SHould I get another fill? I'm worried that I'll be that lucky person to be filled too tight.

My diet is pretty light-no bread 1 shake in the morning, Soup or wrap for lunch and something like fish or Beans for dinner. I dont eat heavy meat anymore.

I had the surgery on 11/24 and went from 205-188 first fill 1/21 went from 188-181 and now I'm holding steady at 181 the weird thing is that I do have restriction, sometimes I think I can take down some real heavy food like a burrito or a thick sammie and bam it's coming back up. but I am not losing weight. I even gain a pund or so on some days..

I'm trying to tell myself that weight isn't all of it I have stopped taking my diabetic medicine but the scale doesnt help.

Should I get a fill?? or do I need to tweek my diet??

Thanks

Happy2be (not so happy today)

Muscle weighs more than fat by volumn so you are probably losing inches. That's better in my book!

I know what you mean, jfran--I really wanted to blow everything when I went three 1/2 weeks with dropping even 1/10 of a pound--but I hung in, knowing I was still doing what was best for me...

But I must say--man, the way your looks have changed--even now you have made a huge difference in yourself--WOW!

Yes, I know--there's still a long way to go--for both of us!

Where i was banded,

We were strictly told, no liquids with the solids as it will wash through the food, leaving you not as full or satisfied and restricted, making you take in more calories later.

Also, the shake in the morning may not be keeping you satisfied either, again where I was banded they insist on us having 3 solid meals a day to have the full effects of the band work for you.

I lost a good amount of weight in the very beggining but haven't had any restriction due to the band not being tight enough.

Now I feel a tightness in my chest all the time, don't know what that is all about.

Good luck,

Janet :D

My surgeon's office has the same rules except they do have us replace one meal a day with a protein shake. Jfran you look awesome...have you tried shaking up your routine a bit with different types of exercise or a difference in your diet? Sometimes that helps get things moving.

Hi there, I know how you feel, and I think I can make you feel better. I have lost 60 lbs. since last January, but was banded in July/07 and have only lost 27 lbs. or so. I'm right where you are. I have a 4cc band, I have 2.5 cc's already and cannot move the scales. Now, to let you know my Dr. found that I had a fatty liver when he did my surgery and I'm learning that can be the cause of my non-loss. I am NOT gaining an ounce, I'm just stuck. I'm going to my dr. tomorrow and he is going to see another month and no loss, thats 2 months in a row without a loss at all. I have lost so many inches in the process that possibly that is still going on. I too have been so frustrated. I get all of my protein in, and only eat food food at lunch, and its usually a salad. I am doing a liver detox as I learned from a Dr. in Austrailia that can make you not loose weight at all. I know that my Dr. thinks I'm not doing this correctly but, I am. I just talked to a trainer last week as well. Any suggestions, comments? I will say that I've never felt so tight after a fill, and I'm wondering if something could be wrong? Thanks! Tonya
