Weightloss Challenge

Recommended Posts

My weight was 202 today. My original starting weight day of surgery was 217 (not 212 like the waisting away site says, can i get that fixed??). So I have lost a total of 15 lbs thus far.

Well I'm 2 weeks post op and still down 10 pounds! I started mushy's and the pounds are holding on for dear life. Oh well I know when I get a fill I will start losing again and besides I lost 13 poounds before I got my band for a total of 23 lost in all. I'd say I'm off to a great start!!! Only that last 10 counts towards the challenge though! Hoping to get to a total of 25 by the end of the challenge!!! Thats just 15 more pounds to go!!!

I've been using the starting weight on the day that people joined the challenge. I thought that was the way to be the most fair to those who joined the challenge when it started.

(If Paula wants to change that "rule", I certainly will -- it's her challenge =) )

Awesome weight loss though! Congratulations =)

Actually, I joined 3 days before I went to surgery, which weight was 217. But it took me awhile to get listed and didn't get listed till after I had gotten back and lost a bit already! But it is ok, if it must stay that is ok. I am going to ROCK this lap band once I can start exercising again! Thanks Crystal for the wooots!

Ah, right you are. I found your post, and you did indeed ask to join before your banding. I've changed your starting weight to 217. Congrats again. =)

195... -2 fom last week.

OK, Im getting excited about this. I might actually make it to a 12 pound loss by June 1st!

I think we are almost 1/2 way there... 5 weeks down already.

If anyone else wants to join, feel free. At this point, your goal is to lose 7 pounds in 7 weeks.

And to the winner *the one that has lost the MOST* I will donate a small sum of money to their favorite charity!!!

Where's Big T & Ladiebird?

Will have to look around for a scale to weigh in today. If I don't find one I will just keep the same weight. LOL!!

Good job to the losers and WHOO HOO to the ones that stayed the same. NO GAIN!!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
