Anyone Banded 9/5/07 ?

Recommended Posts

Linda, What did the doc say?

I've hit a wall. I'm at 229 and usually I "bounce" in my weight. In Feb I had gall bladder surgery and couldn't get a fill because of the healing. Well, in all of March I didn't drop at all. So, I go in for a fill tomorrow, but man...not losing anything has been frustrating.

And, I'm not restricted as much and I am eating! I've been eating more than I should, and things I shouldn't!

I know I need to get moving. Weather is getting nicer and I'm doing more yard work, but I am starting to get "the munchies" more than I used to (right after band, anyway.)

Great Job! We got banded the same day and I lost about 38lbs.I also was hoping to have at least lost 50lbs,but if I don't lose another pound I am glad I decided to do this. I was 223 and now I'm 185. So, keep me informed !! O.K

I can't wait to be 185! I can't remember being that weight. I know at the end of high school I was wearing 20/22 jeans....I just can't remember how much I weighed!

I had my surgery 09/07/07. I weighed 221 @ surgery date. I now weigh 189. That equals 32 pounds. The surgeon says that I am right on target for weight loss. I think that you are doing great, keep up the good work!

I was banded on Sept 10, is that an OK date? I started my weight loss at 279 pounds to date I now weigh 181 pounds. I wore a size 24 today I am a size 12 thanks to the band, diet and losts of exercise. I am 55 years old well I will be in Sept. and it is not easy having to exercise day in and day out but I do what ever it takes. I have a 10 cc band and I have 4 1/2 cc's filled so far. I feel the restriction and I eat less but good stuff, I stop eating before I get full otherwise I will ahve to vomit and well we don't want that, been there and done it a lot now I am OK. I drink a lot of Water and I take the nectar Protein and they came out with it in a chocolate flavor so I was told to try milkso I bought fat free milk and put a scoop of the powder in it and well it is like cheating but not, it tastes so good and I am more satisfied. The powder has 23 protein grams ( I think) and the milk has another 9 grams so I am getting two glasses per day. One before Breakfast and one before my lunch. I am supposed to have 64 grams of protein per day. I drink the required amount of water per day, no soda no white products at all. My diabetes has been reversed and so has my blood pressure and I am now medication free. I need to lose another 9% of body fat before I will be considered a healthy weight which I was told for me will be 140-145.

I was banded 9/12/07. I've lost 42 lbs, but they are starting to creep back on again. My fault, of course, for not following healthy diet. I'm learning. I can't even eat half a chicken breast, but I can eat the whole darn bag of doritos. Exercise helps me a lot.

When I finally reach my half-way point, which might not be for another year - I'm going to be so happy. I don't want to have this band forever though - I just want to really "get" it about my food issues.

WHEW! I am so glad (sorry) that I am no the only one having a SLLLOOOWWW weight loss. I guess the good news is I haven't gained any weight at all but to date have only lost 25lbs. I was banded 9/7/07. I was begining to become frustrated with some of the other sites and other bandsters losing 60-70lbs. Lets keep in touch and try to post our weekly weight loss (if any) and try to keep each other motivated. I was hoping to be alot smaller by this summer but looks like I better shoot for next!

Good for you! I am so happy its working so well for you! I think my problem is the fills! I have only had 3 fills in 7 months and the first on of course the initial fill. mY Dr waits so long in between fills I believe I have not reached my "Prime" fill yet. Keep up the good work. It gives me hope that one day mine will also work for me.

Well, there is good (and kinda funny) news. I have a kiddie pool. Always put it up on Memorial Day weekend for the first time. It used to be that I would lay on the float - one of those kind with the mesh in the middle - and I wouldn't actually float until the pool was full. My head and feet would float but my butt would be on the bottom until the Water almost reached the top. (Probably way funnier in person.) Today, my whole body floated when the pool was only half full. Gotta be happy for the little things, right? :D:thumbup: I really hope that by this time next year my clothing size only has one digit.

Knotta...that's cool! I know that I have a weird NSV. When I take a bath, I've always wanted my stomach covered with Water, but it never has. Just last week, I found out that if I suck it in, the Water will cover my whole body. That was the first time ever.

Weird, but I was WAY happy when it happened!

I believe it is normal for the weight loss to slow down as your body gets used to new you.

Most of my loss happen in the first 6 months the last two months the loss has slowed way down.

But I am thrilled with the results as well as not diabetes medicine and no cpap machine to deal with anymore.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
