Nymphs - How many fills have you had?

Recommended Posts

I'm now up to 6.5cc in a 10cc band after my fill today. I had very little to eat all day and only started getting hungry around 5pm. I had 2 skim lattes, 1 Protein Shake and a banana until I got home at 6.30pm. I had a very small piece of corn on the cob, a cup of home made curried chicken & boiled rice. All went down fine. I hope this is the one. I was told to make another appointment just in case I need more.

I just had my first fill a week and a half ago. I go again at the end of February. It was noticeable and I began to loose weight again. I may need a little more. I have about 4.7 ccs in a 10 cc band.

Had my 2nd fill this morning and finally found out that I have a 4CC Band. I had 1cc put in with my first fill and not sure on the 2nd fill. I forgot to ask. I have lost 72lbs. since starting this journey. I had a new doctor do my fill; my doctor is really busy so I think they hired another doctor to help him. He was just as good as Dr. Lautz. He looked at my chart and stated that I have done a remarkable job. He did ask me if I thought I could go another month without a fill and I told him I needed enough to keep the edge off. I have been hungry between meals and have noticed that I can eat more than 1 to 1 1/2 cups of food at a sitting. He agreed that I have been losing more on willpower than restriction. This doc was from New Zealand and had a very cute accent.

Overall a great visit and the fact that I lost 12 lbs in 5 weeks made me very happy. Here is hoping that this fill helps with the hunger.

I just had my 6th fill. The nurse did a Fluid check and I wasn't nearly as full as I thought I was. I was told at the last fill mid January that I was at 7.5 in my 10 cc band. Nope. With the fill she gave me today, I am at 7.4 cc. Oh well. I am apparently loosing at a rate of 2.45 pounds per week according to their charts. Their scales weigh a good 7 pounds heavier than mine at home. Since I started with mine, I go by my scales.< /p>

I'm not at the sweet spot yet. I walk and do floor excercises about four or five times per week and try to stay within the 1200 calories. Since I eat out at lunch, I've probably gone over the 1200 calories. Oh well. Onward and downward.

Take care.

I am truly struggling with hunger today and I am positive it's not just head hunger.

I ate Cereal ( Kashi Go Lean) for B'fast, had a bottle of Water in between because I was still hungry and I have been trying to hold off lunch as long as I can.

Well at least I know for sure I need more fill! One more week of waiting!

Well I just called the Dr's office to move up my next appt. They were very understanding and I'm going in tomorrow!

I explained that I was hungry and afraid I was going to eat everything in my kitchen cabinet and undo all my hard work!

Wow, don't know why I was so worried about calling. Now I know I can at least get through the rest of the day, relatively well. Of course I am already counting down the time to my Atkins bar at 3:15! And it's two days of full liquids after a fill!

Good on you Shortgal, that's what I did. You know your body and should be able to make that decision. Keep us posted.

Shortgal,

I am glad you get to move up your fill appointment. It is such a great feeling to have restriction. You will get there soon hopefully tomorrow.

I have had 2 fills. I had 5cc the first and another 1.4 on Monday. I have a great restriction, not hungry at all.

Can someone tell me which thread is for the Valentine challenge? I can't remember and I want to update my progress...Thanks.

The valentine challenge is labeled for each week, like week 4 was the last one and it's on the November 07 bandster page. tomorrow is the weigh in for week 5, so I'm sure you'll see a new thread labled, Valentine's Day challenge week 5.

Hollieberries ( Cindy) starts them, she's very organized!

Congratulations on your restriction! 5cc's in one fill?! Wow, I got 2cc's once all the rest have been 1cc, no wonder it's taking me awhile to get there.

thanks so much for the quick reply, shortgal!! Yes, my doctor was very aggresive with the first fill. I am so glad he was. I could eat about a 1/4 cup after that and now I can eat only a few bites and be full all day. I have to force myself to remember to drink my water.. and get in my protein..

I've had two fills, 6ccs total, and my next fill is next Friday, if I have one. I'm doing pretty well on what I have -- no trouble eating anything but still losing and I'm not hungry. Guess we'll see how I feel next week and what my doctor thinks.

I've had 2 fills and I'm getting another one next Wednesday. I have some restriction, but I still can eat a little more than one cup and I can eat a whole bag of pop corn. I have 6CC in a 14CC band. My band is huge!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
