Hey all! Feeling a little better today..Got my gym fix last night..I enjoyed zumba for 60 minutes and it was great! I did the elliptical for about twenty minutes...but I wanted to do strength training too! So I did legs and abs, and the back area I love so much!!! It was nice to get to go...I am now just aiming for hitting the gym three days a week, plus atleast one day on the weekend...It's too hard to put myself on such a high goal to get there everyday, right now with school..I don't want to be dissappointed at myself either...SO my goal is too hit the gym atleast three times a week, and if I hit it more that would be great, but I am going to do my zumba DVD at home more, and my exercise on demand choices...That way I am still getting exercise...

Wow, this has been kind of dead the past couple of days. Kind of like me. I went home after work on Tues w/o getting in my lower body workout due to getting quite sick on Tues afternoon. First strength training workout I've missed since surgery:frown: Got home and basically slept for about 12 hrs Tues night, got up Wed morning and moved to the couch. Slept most of Wed and another 12 on Wed night. Still got my meals and liquids in, just slept in btwn.

So, yesterday morning, I woke up and felt somewhat better and went to the gym. Got in both 100 minutes of cardio and upper body workout before my 6 month appt.

Even though I lost another 7 lbs last month, we decided it was time for my first fill. SUCKED!!!! PA had difficulty getting the needle in the port and then apparently had the bevel facing the wrong way. Took her about 5 minutes just to get the syringe to work properly. As I've stated before, I HATE NEEDLES! and got quite cranked up during this time. When she sat me up to sip some Water, I got quite dizzy and lightheaded with all the adrenaline.

Oh well, I survived and am on liquids and whole liquids yesterday and today. Can go back to normal and find out what foods I can still tolerate tomorrow. Got 2 cc's added yesterday on top of the 4 they put in during the surgery. So, I'm up to 6 cc's in there.

Got up this morning with a HUGE sinus headache. Took a couple of liquigels and hit the gym before work. 50 minutes on elliptical.

Hope you all are doing better than me today.

Sorry, to hear about your fill, and the sinus headache, definitely not a way to start the weekend, that is for sure. Well I have been busy studying my butt off, to still get a crappy grade. I missed questions I know I should have known the answer to.. I will see my test Tuesday and meeting with Professor, after class for help. So today, I started my day off with a walk...I walked my neighborhood since the snow is melting a little bit..Thought some fresh air would do me good. I do feel better...but now it's time to write a paper and study some more....How do people do this college thing I will never know!!

Looking forward to the gym tomorrow, plan to spend some quality time with my machines, and my favorite zumba lady!! I have however, done my work out tapes at home 2 times and did exercise on demand once but I did three different ones...They only last like 20 min though...I am so glad it's Friday!! I hope you all have a Great Friday!! Ceraded, hope you feel better.

Finally! I'm starting to feel alive again. Got up early and in the gym once again.

Elliptical-65 minutes, 5.17 miles and 1076 calories.

Bad news is, DW called me at work first thing to report DD is now sick. I told her not to be with me while I was at home when avoidable, but she wanted to spend time with me. Said she didn't care if she got sick.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
