Good Morning, looks like we all missed yesterday :tt2:

I just printed recipies for koolaid popsicles, sorbet, and pudding pops. DH

was in the habit of eating several popsicles in the evening, and they are pure sugar. So I will make him some that are sugar free and easy to bite. He refuses to wear his teeth and has a hard time with regular popsicles.

He's learning to forego the sugar and eat the dreaded wheat bread, while I learn to leave off putting things in my mouth when it is not meal time

We'll support each other on our journies.

NOw if I can just remember to take my BP meds and Vitamins. I went to the heart DR yesterday for a yearly and my BP was way up. While there I realized I didn't even remember to list my vitamins/calcium on the list. Gotta do better than this.

Maybe I will go take meds while DGC finish their popsicles and I figure out what to give them for lunch.

may the road rise up to meet you, and the sun be ever at your back,

carlene

I went again to the Gastric Banding/Bypass support group meeting on 06-10-08. At the end of the meeting, one of the ladies involved with the process itself told me in an excited voice that the last submission to Medicare had been made and we should be hearing something POSSIVE withen 30 days, that was almost two weeks ago. Sooo, should be soon.

Sorry I don't post very much, but when nothing is happening in my case, it's hard to become inthouwsed.

Glad to hear BJANE & a few other people have just been Banded and are progressing well. I hope to join you one of these days soon.

My wife (Nina) is trying hard to lose weight on Her own right now. In the Banding area, I'm going to be Her genny pig. Than if she is still not doing as good as she wants, she "might" consider Banding.

My sperits are up alittle bit. :rolleyes2:

Hi everyone, just wanted everyone to know I am hanging in there. The knot is getting smaller, and the grip a little looser, but I'm still hanging. lol

I finally lost another pound so have now lost 20 pounds since my banding on May 21st. It's getting tough as I have no restriction and the old appetite is telling me a good ole McDonald's Dbl CB would taste great, but, I've been good and head for the frig and make me a good ole chick salad on whole wheat. It sure is hard to pretend that chic salad is a greasy CB, but I'm doing it. lol. Hopefully I will have my first fill on July 2nd. Maybe I will notice some changes at that time. Ya'll have a good day!:rolleyes2:

Hang in there Sunshine. You too, Don.

I've taken all my meds today, except the aspirin. I'll get to that, too, in a while, when I eat.

Cooking Cola chicken for super. Not the BBQ kind. Using the Cola sauce from the Cola Pot Roast recipe. Don't know if I'll pair it with broccoli or greens.

We have poke salat all around the yard. I want to go out and harvest some. Don't want to get out in the heat, tho.

Be blessed, carlene

Hi, this is bjane. I am almost three weeks post op and I'm beginning to feel good again. Gas pains are gone and I'm beginning to feel hunger (bad!!) but I'm managing to be careful with food choices. This week I can have baby food (YUK) so instead I boiled chicken and ground it and added a little mayo and that was awfully good. I've had sugar free oatmeal once and grits once. I havn't gotten the nerve to try the eggs yet but I will. Before my surgery (6/5/08) I lost 14 lbs and since I have lost 10 lbs and I must say, I feel so much better. I have only taken one insulin shot in 3 weeks and my sugar readings are ok. When I see my primary care doctor, I will take my recordings and we'll discuss whether or not he thinks I will need to use insulin. I hope not. Just an update on my journey and best wishes to all who are brave enough to do this.

Bjane, it's good to hear from you. It sounds like you have everything under control - and you are losing pounds. The name of the game... Keep us posted. I am living my dream through all of you - hope to be banded in the fall. The wheels are turning, and my file is being reviewed, per the "intake coordinator" today. I was sure happy to talk with her! Makes me feel I'm not the only one working on this!

Good luck to you!

Joann

Carol

Hang-in there! I started out in Oct. 07, and finally see the doctor for a surgery date on July 10th. I still think that it is worth the wait. In the meantime, diet the best that you can as the surgery will be easier if you lose some weight before hand.

Good Luck!

Carole, If the surgeon's office is too much of a hassle, why not see about another doctor? Also, if you write a note directly to the doctor and put "personal" on the envelope, it might help. You say he's okay but his staff isn't cooperative...........maybe you need to work directly through him...........Good Luck..............Hang in, it will happen!

I agree. If you don't want a new doctor, by-pass the staff and go directly to the surgeon. Staff can't stop you making an appointment. If you freeze up when confronted by a doctor (I certainly do), pre write your questions out. Ask them one at a time and try to get in your feelings and thoughts .

I am rather new here. I am in my late 60's and like many diabetics have had some problems with ED. First, let me apologize if I offend anyone.

Have any of the men, or women who have been intimately associated with men, had positive experiences with men's increased sexual capabilities after Lap Band surgery, either directly from (a) Lap Band ( the associated weight loss and/or © the benefits of exercise after a banding experience?

If you do not want to answer in the public forum, I would appreciate a private message.

Thank you.

Write your letter to the surgeon and send it certified mail so he has to sign for it and then perhaps he will read it and you will get his atttention.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
