MMMMmmm.. Edamame

Do you have any idea where I would find this at Walmart? I like the idea

of a healthy snack.< /p>

I've not seen it at Walmart, but if they have it, it would be somewhere in the frozen food section. I've looked in the section with the regular veggies and didn't see it, but I didn't have time to really search for it, either. If you have a Kroger or another grocery store with a frozen health-food/organic section, you could probably find it, though. I've always gotten mine at Kroger.

OK guys I had to try these too!! Sams Club has a box of 12 individual 5 oz packages for less than 8 bucks. You put it in the microwave and put the packet of sea salt on it and enjoy. It is still in the pods so you have to eat slower and it is really good. Even my hubby and kids are eating it now. Thanks for the tip Lauren!!!!
You're welcome! They're an incredibly yummy healthy snack. I've not had any problem hitting my Protein goals since I've started eating them for Snacks. I've even thought about buying the shelled edamame and putting it in homemade Soups and maybe even my bean salad recipe. I bet you could even make a hummus-like dip out of it, maybe add some garlic and other spices. I saw someone on TV make dumplings out of it, too, using pureed edamame in wonton wrappers.

I found it at my Wal-Mart - in the fruit and vegie section- there is a small area with tofu and such - they carry a container (pre-cooked) - 4 servings. I just bought some to see what all the hype was about - it was pretty good - I can see it becoming a staple in my diet. I really want to find it raw - but no luck so far.

Thanks! I am going to look for it. It sounds great, especially if

it's something that goes down easily.

Jeanne you stated that Sams has them in 12 packs. Where are they located? Are they in the freezer section or what? They sound great and I'm going to Sams soon and want to get some.

If you have any asian goroceries in your area, you can usually find the edamame Beans in the frozen section (both shelled and in the pod). I find they are way cheaper in the asian market than in the regular stores.

If you buy them in the pods, bring Water to a boil, add the edamame Beans, bring back to a boil and cook (do not cover) for the minimum recommeded time (about 3 minutes) to keep them crisp. Rinse in cold Water, sprinkle with sea salt and voila you have a great easy dish. Please note that you are not intended to eat the pods - rather you squeeze the bean out of the pod into your mouth (and lick the salt off the pod).:)

I went to my local health food store and they had the dry roasted edamame in lighlty salted and wasabe. I bought the lightly salted. They are ok. I wouldn't say they are great by no means, but edible. They kinda taste like a sunflower seed to me. Definately might have to keep them on hand though since they are so high in Protein. I might go back and buy the frozen.

They also had the Pirates Booty. I didn't buy it this time, but might catch it the next time.

Thanks for the tips! It actually caused me to drag myself into my local health food store and there is TONS to explore.

Try the frozen, ready-to-cook kind, if you can find it. It's REALLY good. It's become my favorite veggie.

Definately on my Things-TO-Do list. I am going to check the Wal Mart before going back to the health store and probably paying more for them. What is the brand that you buy?

I buy Seapoint Farms, or something like that. I get it at Kroger, though, so I don't know if Walmart carries it.

That is the same brand as the roasted that I bought. I will check Wally World and if no luck, go back to the health food store.

I used to buy the edamame in the pods from Sams Club, but I found the shelled edamame in the freezer veggie section at most stores (walmart, tom thumb, kroger) and now I love them even more. I just started adding a little ranch powder mix to them after I cook and drain and my 3 year old son gobbles it down.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
