Do u ever get frustrated weighing every day if the scale doesn't show a weight loss?? That's my biggest worry, I don't want to set myself up for a guilt trip if I'm not losing everyday..

My surgeon recommends weighing daily. The rationale is that it "keeps you honest" and able to adjust caloric intake and/or exercise in a more timely fashion before a little gain becomes a big gain :-)

I continue to weigh at least once a day. I just got back from vacation and was looking for scales while I was there...I would have taken mine if it wasnt glass...lol but thankfully no wt gain!!!!

I started out weighing once a day. Then I would stand on it twice and sometimes three times a day. So, I went to the opposite extreme and weighed only at my dr's office once a month. Both were making me crazy.

I've finally found a balance that works for me. I do it on Wednesday evenings at the gym - always on the same scale and try to pay less attention to the actual number than the direction I'm going because I know it won't weigh the same as my dr's scale.< /p>

I weigh every morning. I do wii fit and it weighs you every time. So every morning for me. I like even if I have not lost because it motivates me to see a loss the next day.

I try to weigh myself daily. I think it's the only way to keep you honest. If you see the number creeping up you can quickly adjust your diet/exercise. If you wait to long to weigh it can be discouraging if it jumps to high and to me this causes failure, but that's just my opinion.

I weight daily, after I get up and use the bathroom. I find weighing at the same time is more accurate.

I weigh at least twice a day. Usually before I go to sleep and when I wake up.

I weigh myself every morning before I've had anything to eat or drink.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
