How big is the actual opening to the stomach?

I have always wondered this...

Does anyone know the average size of the entrance to the stomach pre-banding?

How small is it after banding - the actual inside diameter..? What about after fills...

I dont know why, but I really want to know this.

cheers

I have a book that actually shows the opening width of the stoma. Depending on your fill, the opening is about the size of a pen. Not a skinny skinny pen, but a gel pen.

Tulip, that sounds very logical to me--my surgeon told me one week after surgery that "if it's bigger than the opening to a straw, don't allow it to go down through the stoma". So a gel pen sounds about right!

Bunnykin - Good question.

Tulip - I'd be interested in reading this book too.

I haven't been able to find any books on banding as yet.
