Morning gals

Denise, - how nice

Pam - glad you are feeling better

long day yesterday, I did get a pr of boy shorts bathing suits from jcpenney, they were $38 marked down to $24 and I had $10 off. I was not overly thrilled with tops but i found some at Walmart and target so i'll go there, that is the easiest part. The other hard part is tht i'm bloated, due for my visit this week so shopping might be a little difficult. LOL

No pizza shop until next saturday... YIPEE

I didn't go to church today, slept sort of late. Slept better last night than a long time, I kept waking up, I kept spitting up, but I would go right back to sleep. Isn't that a lovely fact to know!! Is that called TMI?

I went to SteinMart last night in search of the elusive shoes, didn't find the shoes, but got a cute top. It is a 3x, I get sort of down when I need a bigger size, but it was so cute I didn't mind.

Well I am off to take shower! Have a great day, it is sunny here and I think it is supposed to be almost warm. But I am going to be inside, so don't really care!

Pam- Noo I wasn't at the track, I watch it with my mom every year. BUT we decided we're gonna go next year!! I think we may have a triple crown this year, Big Brown was smokin'!! I was sad about them killing Eight Belles on the track, but it ends up that's what they ALWAYS do if they get injured during the race.. kill them on the spot. They didn't do Barbaro because he was so famous (he would have won the triple crown too I think).. but eventually did have to euthanize him. It really was a buzz kill about Belles, I am glad I wasn't there, I'd probably have bawled, they do it right there in front of everyone!!!

Me & mom bet on the horses on a website, I bet on Brown to win, and won $50. Wee. Hehe. Ok I don't normally have time on weekends to get on here, this weekend is no exception, dinner is burning in the oven as I type this!

Just got home from seeing Jersey Boys, was it ever great!!! If you get a chance to see it do!! I really wasn't looking that forward to it, we have season tickets to the Broadway Series here, and even though I had heard a lot of good things about it, didn't really want to go. Almost canceled going this morning. I am sure glad I went!

I hope the reason everyone is so quiet is because they are having too much fun!!!

TracyK what is going on with your cyst? Is it all better?? I hope so!!

Have a good one!!

Hi Violets-

what a fun relaxing weekend I had! I sure needed that. I went and did some shopping for our trip. Me & Jenn will probably end up wearing the same Walmart clothes & look like twins! lol

Palais Royal also had a great sale this weekend. So I am set for our trip. I hope the stuff I didn't try on fits. I tried on bathing suits....what a joke. I won't elaborate on that one other than to say I will never like the way I look in one but at least I own one. I never did until last year. So, that in itself is an accomplishment I suppose. I will probably still weear a shirt or some shorts over it when we go. I guess I will always have a complex.

Jane-I am doing good so far. I have about another week of antibiotics left but I still feel a little knot there. The question is will it flare up again after the antibiotics are gone....we'll see!

I need to go get some pre-work week stuff done. Have a great night violets.

I Loved, loved, loved (!!!!!!) talking to Pamela!!! I read her message of distress, and was getting ready to post an answer, and I thought---what the heck and just called!! I am so anxious for this trip!!!!

I met my bandster friend Sofi in the mall today, and we shopped, found me a new Fossil purse I am seriously thinking of going back and buying!!! LOL

Other than that, I bought some sunglasses, and Mother's Day cards......big spender that I am!

I too had bet on the race with my DH-----he won. I had bet on Eight Belles, I kept telling him she was gonna go out there and show those boys how it was done. Poor baby, died trying. I cried. I cannot imagine putting mine down while they scream in pain, that was what was the saddest, is that was a painful injury. I just hope she had enough adrenalin still running through her, that she did not feel it as strongly. Compound fractures, would have been serious pain. Tragic end, spoiled the win, I am sure to a point for Big Brown------but man did he smoke that race or what???!!! He can make this a triple crown if he runs like that again, and from a 20 pole!!!!!!

We were actually going to go to the races here today--we have live horse racing combined with our casino. But yesterday left me feeling kinda raw about watching them pound the track so hard----so I opted to shop with Sofi. Rick stayed home and played motorcycles with the boys!!! LOL

Contest is over, so I am losing weight!!! Go figure! I have lost a pound and a half---will change my ticker when I remember to--3rd day now, so I am claiming it!

It must have been a busy weekend for everyone, it was quiet in here---everyone out shopping for our vacation!!! Wooo Hoooo

Catch y'all later!

Personally, I have had trouble eating all day----everything is moving sooooo slow, I feel like I had a serious PB.....and I didn't. Think the salad was just too hard to digest, and irritated me. So I am drinking mostly today, just taking it easy.

I don't have much restriction, but eating 2 eggs for me in the morning, would be a total impossibility!!! By evening that would not be an issue though!!

Well, I am off to see what Rick's plan is next......

Major Beautiful Weekend here.

Spent most of my weekend outside. Got my Tomato plants planted yesterday. Keeping my fingers crossed. It's been years since I've tried them. We were supposed to have put the new fence up this weekend but the materials were never delivered. I called to pool people and they said that ce there has been so much rain here the last couple of weeks , they're not sure if they will be out this week to put the pool in. Said they would have to come out and check the ground. We just won't be able to fill it up till the fence is put up. Patience.........

Denise, Those are some of the most beautiful pictures. I have never seen anything like them. Can't wait to see the baby.

Doctor's office called Friday morning and told hubby since he was over 50 that he needed to come in for some test. Looks like a colonoscpy, blood work and a prostate screening. Ten minutes later they called back and said that since I'm turning 50 next month that I need to come in for some test. It's hell getting old. lol, lol.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Hope the week is a good one for all.

Susie, was he trying to drum up business? Maybe he has a new addition to his house he needs help with funding so he had his nurses google all patients turning a certain age!! Too funny!! I am counting down the days before my health insurance goes up $60 because I turn 45. I don't think of that as being a new age group.

Hey Violets~

Just checking in. That looks like a cool site Suzie, I saved it as a fav.

Well, no PB today!:wink2: I had:

breakfast:

1/4 cottage cheese, 1/2 avocado,

lunch:

1/2 c. egg sal 8 crackers,

snack:

strawberries, 40 cal of whip cream

dinner:

1/2 c. refried Beans, steamed calliflower

snack:

Low Carb ice cream pop

Still is a lot of food when I type it out, but actually...it doesn't feel like it. I do get hungry...cant help it. Like after the strawberries, I really felt full. Then as soon as I drink, I don't. Still trying to figure this fill out. Hell, it has only been 3 days.

I'll probably have a sugar free hot coco before bed.

Anyway, we had a great day. Went to an RV show...walked arou nd and went into some AMAZING RV's. Some of these puppies are 6-800K...and beautiful! We just enjoyed the beautiful day. Then we came home and relaxed!

Another busy week here. Really loved chatting w/ Kat, and am soooo ready to hook up w/ the Violets! This is gonna be sooo fun.

Have a fun night, and morning!

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
