Suzie!!!! LOVE THE Funny face pic!

I am off the crap eating...... and back to being in control. Last night I really wanted something sweet, but it was past 8 p.m. so I went into the living room and refused to go NEAR the kitchen for the rest of the night! This morning I had 1/2 a chicken burrito (made for me by my mom for my birthday) amazing that I can eat it!

I am also slowly training UNO the wonderdog how to be CALM inside the house! Very hard to do with boys who want to wrestle and play. I'm trying to get them to understand that he NEEDS to learn how to just lay down and be calm since winter is coming and we don't want him to be stuck in the kennel all day. Right now he has a huge fenced in yard to play in all day.

I did manage to drink 90 oz's of Water yesterday!~ Going for two days in a row. scale was back at 182 again.

Up, dressed, and ready to drop Kinsey off with my Mom and go be poked, and scanned. Nerves are janglin'!!! Not sure why this day is always so anticlimactic it is ridiculous, I get all nervous, and nothing is ever said to me, they just send me on my way to wait.....

TracyK---what size of pants do you need for Macy? Let me know a size and color requirment....and let me look here. Many of the stores, order according to what sells best in the area. So finding clothes to fit Kinsey is almost impossible, we shop online or in Albq. for her. To go into our stores in Farmington, the vast majority of clothing from kids to plus size are petite/short length, and lots of what they refer to in Sears as Husky or whatever. They base what they order on what sells, and with our huge Navajo population who are shorter and heavier through the middle---that is what gets ordered. Worked fine for me when I was bigger, IF I could find something besides short length. The Navajos are built like me only short!!! Very barrel chested, and thick through the middle, but no butt and legs are skinny---just their skinny legs are short, and mine are long!

So I may have a totally different selection of clothing here than you do there. Give me an idea what to look for.

Well I am off! Wish me luck.........gonna indulge in a cheeseburger when I am done! I always have to eat high fat when I am done to help clear my system of all the radioactive isotopes they inject me with!!! Rick and I decided our favorite burger joint was on the menu. Ooops he just pulled up! See ya@

Morning V's!

You all have such fun pics

Tracy, I liked the hair lighter, that's just my opinion...

I was on last night, I was trying to play catch up, then got tired half-way through.. ya'll posted like 6 pages while I was gone!!

I DID NOT SMOKE!! I barely miss it, except for when I feel like I should smoke because there's nothing else to do. Lots of smoking going on around me at the casinos, and some inconsiderate smokers. I always tried to be a considerate smoker, in casinos, if I was at a table game I would wait till they shuffled cards and stand up from the table to smoke.. or at slots, hold it up and away so it didn't blow into anyone's face.

Some people were jackasses, this one guy at a table game, he lights his smokes and just lets it sit in the ashtray... like an incense of..tobacco. He kept lighting them, leaving them to burn. I ended up leaving thee table cause of that guy. Then some other guy puts a burning cigar in an ashtray next to me at a slot machine, when he passed by. Didn't bother to try to snuff it out, just dropped it there for me to enjoy.

Anywho. I came home with $100 more than I left with. That's a win! I had a lot of fun..

I told you guys about my fill tomorrow, well this weekend mysteriously I am super tight. I could not get anything down and I kept PBing. Really irritated, what if I don't get my fill tomorrow and this was temporary from the excitement of vacation or something. Then I gotta drive 6 hours again to get it filled for real. Argh.

Just cancelled my appt. after typing that I realized I needed a logical solution. I have 3 more free fill visits, I don't want to waste one on a 6-hour 'check up'.

Welcome back Laura! Way to go on the no smoking

Thanks anyway Michelle!

Kat-6X or 7 that have lots of stretch (preferably elastic). I am not too worried about the length because I can always have them hemmed or roll them up. At school she can wear jeans or pants (just not jogging pants or leggings) in black, blue, tan, brown and I think grey. Jeans would be ideal if I could find elastic waist 6X I would be in heaven. Even if it is just the partial elastic waist, ya know? Let me know if you find anything! Thank you so much!

Hey gals...

Another quick check-in... tomorrow night I am going w/the VP to my surgeon's orientation meeting!! I haven't been to the office in... yikes, since June! Remember, they wouldn't fill me, said I was maxed out & that I just had to eat better, blah dee blah... so I've TRIED that and am STILL the same weight!! -80. That's it. I am so frustrated!!! They said if I wanted another fill I had to go for it @ the hospital under flouroscope... & frankly, I don't want to do that! I don't know or trust them there. Maybe tomorrow night I'll talk w/the customer service gal about it... maybe one of them could meet me over there?? I don't know... what I *DO* know is that I'm not happy that I'm not at goal already!! Another 40 'til my original goal... ugh.

'Nuff whining... off to make pork chops for dinner...

Hi Michelle!

I have had all my fills under flouroscope - I think there is less chance of issues doing it this way - and they are able to get you close to perfect on fill. They find the port - so no guessing or unecessary pokes - numb me - stick the needle pull out the Fluid to measure - then fill me completely (full restriction) - they give me Water downed barium solution to drink then they back out the fluid till -just the right speed the solution drains from the pouch to the stomach. They are also able to see the exact position of the band and the size/position of the pouch.

I understand you don't know who will do it -- but maybe you can arrange for your normal doctor/pa do do the fill at the hospital.

My doctor does mine at the hospital - just a thought!

I feel you frustration -- I am down 70lbs but I have 70 lbs more to my first goal -- then most likely another 30.

I started exercising again -- today was day 6 -- and attempting to watch my eating ( that is hard as well).

Good night!

TracyK - I think I like your hair lighter. But you have to look at your hair everyday so whatever makes you happy!

Pammy - so glad you had a wonderful weekend with your dad. I barely got on facebook! I'm gonna go friend you... What's that game about? I just looked at it briefly online...

Terry - oh my, hero is such a handsome boy!! Ya'll look so happy!! I'm glad to hear he's doing good with his obedience training. My dogs are all drop outs! They didn't want them coming back after the third session because they disrupted the class!

I wish I was with Judy right now... Can you just imagine where she's at right now?? Warm sand, blue Water, pina colada in each hand?? Well everything except the pina coladas, LOL! Judyyyyyy, take me with you next time!!!

We've got a wedding this Saturday and this bride is being a little overbearing... I've met with her twice this week and I just got off the phone with her again... I'm ready for Saturday to come already... The best part of the whole thing is when the girls show up and they see how everything is ready, we've got everything under control and they can finally just exhale and relax and just enjoy their day.... I live for that moment, LOL.

I'll be back, I've got to go rustle up some dinner...

Hi, went to my meeting this morning, came home and took a little nap, went to work, then left and went to dermatologist to get things removed off my body, then went back to work, no manicure, will get it done tomorrow. I get to go to the oncologist tomorrow also, yearly check up, but this is more than a year behind. I was bad.

I feel so heavy right now. Oh well, nothing I can do. I notice my customers are looking at me kind of funny, I am sure it is my imagination though.

I hope this find everyone having a great evening!!!!!!!

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

      2. Selina333

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
