Tracy, the website is www.gbgrr.org They have more dogs than what is listed, too...so if you're serious, the best thing to do is submit an application then they will talk to you about your particular situation, wants and needs, and will make recommendations to you.

Thanks Terry...oh btw it is not for me. My sister lives in the country "kind of" and she has this humongous yard and she is thinking about a dog and I told her about yours!

LOVED the pic Terry!

OK, so I had my 20th class reunion over the weekend it went really well, and I had a much better time than I thought I would (but the rum most likely had something to do with it!) :)

I pretty much flitted from one group to another taking a bunch of pics. This is the same way I was in HS.. hung with many different groups but never really a part of ONE.

I had a bad eating night on Friday....... my niece turned 18 and they made homeade wontons........... and I had NO problem eating them.. so without exageration I had NO LESS than 8. I didn't even bother to count.. and no Water to speak of........ not to mention the leftover Cookies from Open Enrolment have been my breakfast..... so today I faced the scale........ 182.4 imagine if I didn't have any water weight.

My mom made me her famous pork burrito's for my birthday and I'm eating the last two today..... :)

So I've come clean........ here is a pic of me at my reunion!

I like it dark, but I think I like it better lighter. Although don't color it lighter now, cause you will have a mess. If you have ?'s call me, or pm me. Color does not remove color and you will end up with a funny shade of orange!!

Tracyks, that is such a great picture of you and the girls! You truly look like you were having a great time!! I have never been to one of my reunions, keep saying I am going to go, but then don't. I graduated in 81 so my next one is in 3 years?

My nose is seriously running today. I stopped at Walgreens last night and talked to the pharmacist, and he said Zrytec and Sudafed.

Oh well off to get my flu shot, I hope they give it to me. I don't have a cold and hopefully the allergy medicine will kick in then!!

Jane-in all honesty the reason I went so dark is because it was already with that orangy tint....and I felt like trailer trash with the roots growing out and ugh I could not stand it anymore! So, I went with the almost darkest they had that way when it does grow out my roots will not be THAT noticeable. I wish I had the money to go to my lady and have it done but it is a little too money much right now. :)

I just could not hang with almost orange hair and black roots anymore...even though halloween is coming up i do not wanna look like a pumpkin! lol

Good morning all~

TracyK---across the top of your hair it looks like a lighter streak---I think that is perfect---a few more highlights, and I think it would look great! It makes your skin look flawless!!! My oldest DD and my best friend have both recently went darker! Not so fond of it on my DD, but on Becky it looks amazing!

TracyKS---you look wonderful in your reunion pic! Rick and I had our 30th this summer! We had a blast. My favorite compliment of the night was from a guy I had not seen since a few years out of school, and he told me I had not changed a bit since then! He missed the giant weight mountain I climbed up and down!!! Now I am still 40 pounds heavier than I was in high school, but I looked anorexic then without a doubt! Sad thing is, I tried as hard then to gain as I do now to lose!

Did anyone really surprise you? I was not as surprised by the women who gained weight as I was the men....not sure why I but I was! And this one kid who had a huge--like easily 8" long afro was bald as a cue ball on top!!!

Other surprises were not good ones, I had heard of classmates dying, had even went to services, but had no idea another 2 were now confined to wheelchairs.

Some looked way old, and others had hardly changed at all. Was a lot of fun overall!

And I am SURE you will agree---much easier to attend without the additional 100 pounds.

Jane, be careful of the Zyrtec and work, it makes me soooooo sleepy! It lasts for 24 hours, so I take it at bedtime, and am still groggy from it the next morning! I try to remember it at dinner, then I do pretty well---but my memory is shot!

Terry--when I looked at your necklace you made Judy, I thought the leaf must have been like a bead, an embelishment you bought. I had no idea you cut it out, and made it! OMG! It is beautiful! In Colorado where we went yesterday the shops sell a lot of dipped aspen leaves. When an aspen leaf breaks down, the leaf part crumbles away but often leaves the lacy skeleton of the leaf, and they have them dipped in everything from a gold finish looking stuff to REAL gold! They are so pretty. I am used to seeing them, so I thought that was a similar thing. I am so impressed you made that! Please keep showing us what you make!

It got down to the low 20's here last night, and the snow line is right at us....hope it stays north! Our trees have not dropped leaves yet, and when that has occasionally happened, we have lots of broken tree limbs and a mess! It is hard to rake leaves in the snow!!! Needless to say we have a fire going, Kinsey lays there and tells me, I love to look at the fire, it is pretty. So I told her it is only pretty INSIDE the fireplace!

Guess I better get the little girlie some Breakfast, she just got up again!

Good Morning Ladies~

Terri...I love the pix! You look beautiful and the fam looks happy. Hero is quite a lucky litte guy!!

TracyKS...I love the pix too! You also look great! I missed my reunion and wished I didn't. Glad you had fun!

TracyK...I love that pic and the hair color looks great as well. I TOTALLY agree...got tired of the roots, that is why I went dark red. I like it dark especially for winter.

Well, I am off today...gonna relax and watch TV. My professor called while I was in Reno, then I called her back and she now needs to call me today. I am nervous to hear what she has to say. Wish she would just send me an email. I'll keep you posted.

Have a great day! I love Lucy awaits!

TracyKS, Loved the pictures. Looked like you had a lot of fun. I just recently ran across an old high school friend on Facebook. We have sent several messages back and forth. It's so cool to reconnect.

Having a hard time keeping my eyes open right now. Today was my last Monday to get up at 4:30am. I certainly won't miss it.

Hugs Everyone

That company is charging at my account again! The bank called to tell me....and said they are leaving it open ended to them, that the card is non working otherwise, in an attempt to locate who and where the charges are actually coming from. I am soooooo freaked out by it! I don't like it at all!

I just ordered new checks for that account, they have not even come in yet, but I think tomorrow when the walk in part of the bank is open, I am closing it all together. But I can't until the things we have out, clear.......such a friggin' mess!!!!!!!

This was 10 new charges totalling like 263.57 or something like that, I moved the paper with it wrote down.....

MasterCard said it will be at least 10 business days to decide whether to credit my account for the previous charges or not. These show up on my summary, but do not show up as debited out......with the weekend and the holiday---my 10 days will not be up til this week. I am hoping like heck they give my money back without a big hassle.

Anyway I thought part of it was over and it isn't!!!

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

    • LeighaTR

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
