Hi girls

just stopping in to say hello to everyone. Just crazy, I actually went 2 days without my computer on.

Friday night i went out for 1 drink... you all know i don't just have 1... but i didn't want to go to the bar at the bottom of the hill, so we went to this place downtown.. of course i know people there... well we ended up having drinks with these biker guys I knew before but didn't remember me until they saw me 80lbs less... funny isn't it?

Anyway, last time this guy was hitting on me, he was there... talked all night... ended finding out he is a good kisser....

Well then we went to the bar at the bottom of the hill for 1 birthday drink for another guy, well, my other friends who have always been my friends were there, having a big party today, invited me to come....

So... anyway - blah blah blah... Dicky is going to pick me up and bring me to the party with him.

I told my friend who came over i was not looking for a relationship... she asked why not... well... lets see... that just leads to disappoiontment... and i don't want to settle with the first guy i meed... I want to date a little... this is a new thing for me.

I built my kitchen floor up yesterday, took me a good part of the day to take the stairs out and frame and floor it but I did it.... I'm very impressed with myself, butnot just that, it was a big part of the project - I'm going to get my neighbors dremmel and start working on the grout and replacing tiles this week. My electric is run in the ceiling for my new lights and the nails are all pulled. I just need to insulate and the ceiling is ready to go back, and if the floor is done then I can get the Water and power in for the island and be able to function again. Mom bought a new window and that will be here in 2 weeks, so it worksout great, so 3-4 weeks i'll have walls and a week later cabinets and done.. and that is doing very little after work.

anyway, that is where i've been,.... have to go find a sitter for dylan so i can go to the party.

Jenn, I am in awe of you. I wish I was a DIY'er. Heck if I was my house would never be finished. I would always be finding something to do over. LOL

Terry, Great picture of you all.

TracyK, :crying:   :cool2:

I've got the pumpkin bread made, laundry done. Now I have to shower and get dressed. We are off to the in-laws today. Hoping we see some good fall colors along the way.

Everyone have a great day.

Hey Ladies~

I am home...sad...but am so glad that I got a chance to tell him how blessed I am to have him as a dad, how lucky I feel that he has always been in my corner, and thank him for all the great opportunities he has afforded me...and thanks for my great personality! How much I loved him. I saved this all up until they dropped me off at the airport...then BURST into sobbing tears and let him hear everything at the curb side before I jumped out! I am lucky to have had the opportunity to tell him this stuff...so many people dont get that chance. My dad is an atheist and doesn't believe in any heaven or hell. He thinks...when we die...we are dead. I told him, "don't you think you will be watching over me?", he said, "no, my eyes will be dead!" I told him if he could, come over and move stuff around on my dresser. He said, "that will freak you out" and I said..."no, I will like it". I reminded him at the curb to come move stuff on my dresser. We laughed. I now know the 'PLANS' for after and was glad to get to talk to my step mom when dad was napping. We had a good cry and a great talk!

While I was gone, Susanne painted the den!!!! She is amazing! It is georgous and I AM SOOOO LUCKY TO HAVE HER. Now mind you, we just had it painted about 3.5 years ago...but it was a muted soft blue and she painted it a mocca-esque color...it looks great!

I love you all and am sooo glad to have you. Thanks for all the purple power. I am taking tomorrow off to "decompress" and will be popping in!

xooxoxxoxoxoxoxo

Pam, :) :seeya: :w00t: :tt2: :) I'm so proud of you. It didn't matter where you said it at. Just that you said it. If not for him, for you. Get some rest now and can I have Susanne for a couple of weeks?

Hugs.

Gina - I was tight like that for several months....didn't help me lose any weight at all! I'd much rather be looser and be able to eat salads and other veggies, and more meats! Maybe you need a break for awhile!

Terry -- Hero and your family are absolutely beautiful. You look wonderful and EVERYONE looks so happy - and as if you have been together forever.:)

I have always been super tight - and to be completely honest -- I am scared not to be as tight as I am. I can eat bread, rice, potatoes, pizza, and of couse - ice cream and chocolate.< /p>

And yes I know just because I can - doesn't mean I should.

I had a fill 1/10th and to 2/22nd I lost 12 lbs -- then even as tight as I am -- From Feb 22 to today, I gained 30 lbs.

Good news - I have had 3 good days (lost 3 lbs) - exercised; logging my eatting; eatting 3 meals and 1 snack; staying away from the ice coffee, ice cream, candy and sneaking of food. Although I did overdue it a little today (2 extra snacks:cursing:)-but determined to get back on track tomorrow!

Have a good night everyone!

Good going, Gina! I'm glad you're checking in more here, too. I think it helps! Yep, Hero is doing fine and lovin' his new family, I think. We played with a Corgi named Jack at the bark park today! He was a good little swimmer! I was so surprised!

Pamela - I'm so glad to hear you had a good weekend and most especially that you got to say what you wanted to say. (((Hugs))) XOXO When Suzie gets thru with Susanne, send her my way.

gotta hit the hay, peeps. Love you all!

PS - Wonder what Judy's doing right now??

Had a great day------5 couples we all rode 200+ miles through the cold in the mountains, and looked at all the colors! Stopped at a place called Blondies Pub & Grub---had a really great hamburger---shared it with Rick....wanted to eat lots more and didn't...yay!!!

Come home Rick built me a fire, and we vegged, now I am watching the endings of my programs.

Pamela, glad you are home Hon, sorry it was such a difficult weekend, but glad you were open and honest and YOU! Big hugs and lots of prayers whether he believes in them or not, for both you and Dad!!

Terry, it really is a great picture!!! Your DH is not how I pictured him at all!!! Not sure exactly what I did picture, but he wasn't it!

One of the couples we rode with, I cannot stand the wife.....she also showed up at our pick up ball game yesterday and reminded me why I cannot stand her!!! Then I had to deal with her and 2 of her brats at dinner, then again with her today....I just hung with my usual friends, and let her argue with the boys---she prefers that anyway, she insists on telling us wussy women all the time.....grrrrrr. Rick thanked me on the way home for being nothing like her!! LOL

Colors were beautiful!!! Aspens were bright gold, and oak was bright red, and russet....then all the pines and evergreens, the mountains looked like a collage of color. We found this great spot, lots of leaves on the ground, and lots of scrub oak (small wild oak), and big white barked aspen trees....the plan was to take pictures...since our resident photographer was in attendance (Gary). BUT Becky had a bottle of Water in the trunk of the bike, and it leaked and soaked the camera. He was soooooo mad! But he put it in there! We thought it would be best to let it dry before trying it again. So no cool pics, even though we hunted for an hour for the perfect spot!!!

Tracy---don't panic, the water weight will go down! I have been up by several pounds the days after the games, I finally figured out it was all the sunflower seeds with all the salt!!! Hang in there you are doing the right things.

Well I am off to watch the end of Brothers & Sisters then to bed with me, Kinsey comes early.....like that matters, we go back to bed!!! LOL!!!

Talk to all of you tomorrow! Hope your headache is better Jane!

Kat

Good morning violets~

DH is working days and I just got macy off to school so now I am n the quiet house and I am gonna do some house work but I HAD to say hi to my violets first.

Pamela-I thought about you all day yesterday. I started to text you but I figured it would be best to just let you have your time with your dad. I cried when i read your post :w00t:. I am so glad that you had the opportunity to talk to your dad. (((hugs)))

Terry-what is the website for where you got Hero?

Kat-my tom and sunflower seeds I am sure took their toll on my body. I knew better than to get on the scales and I did i anyway (like a dumbass). I am over it...I will weigh probably tomorrow or the next day and I am sure that it will be better.

Michelle-are we back to 100%? Hope you are feeling better. It takes so long to get rid of that gunk in your chest! Gunk is a word, right? lol

TracyinKS-we are starting to feel a little neglected....:seeya:

Haydee-happy Monday...how was your weekend?

Jane-a day full of old gay guys?:) What a friend you are! LOL

Laura-did we win little mama? (or at least did you have fun?)

Gina-I feel your pain about gaining but like Judy said...it is not how we run the race it is how we finish it!

Jenn-how was the party? Did you have fun?

Suzie-Sometimes I wished I knew how to cook better than I do then I read your posts and it all sounds so yummy....I am better off not knowing how to cook all that stuff!

I am gonna get started with my cleaning. Have a fantastic day violets! Make good choices and drink your Water :)

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
