I'm sitting here hitting refresh, please send it soon blah blah..still nothing, I am now stuck at the computer though because I only have 2 hours from when she sends it. If I give up and go to bed, watch her friggin send it. So I'm packing, cleaning, hitting refresh, repeat. Oh and I've been trying to read some reviews for the Sandals we're going to, and I kept e-mailing my travel lady that it says no tips, but people say you do need to tip.. she said DO NOT TIP they will get in trouble.. well, more reviews say the transport (Sandals provides) to & from airport, they DO require a tip, and will be verbal about it.. they aren't Sandals employees, just a Jamaican transport.. so I am stressing again.. if there was ANYTHING I need to tip, I need to know!! I don't plan on bringing money. So waiting for her e-mail too.

Laura I'd take some cash anyway!!! Better safe than sorry.

Kat is staying home......Aiden has surgery tomorrow morning at 7:30 AM. Rick and I are talking about driving to Albq. to see them on Sat or Sun. We are actually talking about going tomorrow and catching ZZ Top and Brooks and Dunn in concert---then seeing them the next morning. One good thing about the company---they can always get us seats in the box if we decide to do the concert---we have done it just an hour before and not had a problem, and they had them available today....so we'll see. I am sad at not going to Sturgis, yet not devastated----not much changes year to year!!!

Pamela---Swing Vote does not open here til tomorrow either, but I had it in my head all morning it was Friday!! LOL----we will go tomorrow if we don't head to Albq. We can't leave for Albq. until after 2----he has to be available while crews are out. Work sure does get in the way of life!!! LOL

We went to Fuddruckers with son, DIL and grandson tonight. He was actually so well behaved it was shocking!!! I took him to the bathroom and cut his nails, they were so long it was unbelievable! I cannot believe the way she does with him sometimes. Oh well.

I had a corner of Rick's burger, and about 3-4 onion rings. Earlier I had a handful (one of the quarter machines) of Hot Tamales.

Haydee---we eat sooooooo much green chile!!! When it hits the market it is sold in 40 pound bags. We buy minimally 4 bags, and freeze per year! We clean it, remove the seeds and skin then bag it----some whole, and some I chop. When I put it in the bag, I flatten the bag, then when I need some of the chopped, I can open the bag, put it on the edge of the counter and break off what I need. I keep the ones that work well for rellenos, as we clean them whole, and bag them separately and mark them so when I am ready to make them the chiles are nice and meaty, and whole, so they work well. We eat chile 3 times a day many days, and I would die I think without it!!!

I too make a MEAN pork green chile!!! I miss it when we go to TX---Tex Mex is so different! Here the actual state question is "Red or Green?" Referring to chile!!!

Well I am off to screw up a good day, and have a bowl of ice cream on the back porch with my hubby!!!!

BBL~~

Good Evening, Violets..

Just got back from seeing the Dark Knight. Great movie, excellent job by Heath Ledger, but just not my kind of movie. About 1/3 of the way through I'd really had enough, but stuck it out til the end. Way too loud, way too much happening and people getting blown up all the way through it. But I did enjoy the popcorn and ice cream afterwards!!

Eating report..

1 slice toast with peanut butter

6 segments of mandarin oranges

2 cream cheese wontons

1 talapia filet

1 SF ice cream bar

1 chicken enchilada (threw the rice away)

1 scoop regular ice cream

3 cups buttered popcorn

2 liters Crystal Light

30 minutes of exercise in the pool. Didn't get to the wiifit today.

Ethan comes at 8 tomorrow so Grandma needs to sign off and head to bed. Everyone have a good evening. sleep well.

I saw Dark Knight twice, I really liked it--and it's NOT my kind of movie. I don't like comic or action, but I had to go the first time. I wanted to go the 2nd time. Heath Ledger did an excellent job, it looked so natural all his weird quirks and facial twitches.

I am hungry, but too tight to eat.. wah.

Judy~ I agree Heath did a great job! He really deserves award recognition. I liked the movie, but it was about 30 min. too long.

I have 2 interviews in the morning. Cruisin' along....yeah!

Then we are going to my sisters on Sat am(step sister for 33 years) and bro and nephew will be there. Sister's boyfriend is awesome and they are putting on a bbq Sat., and brunch on Sunday. My sis lives at the beach, Dana Point. It will be very nice...looking forward to it. The gathering is for my dad's b-day on Tuesday. He and step mom are flying down from Reno. He has cancer so this is very special that we can all get together. Dad usually visits bro, sis or me, but it is hard to get us all together at the same time. Anyhoo....looking forward to seeing my pops...I love him so much!

OK...sleep well. I know who is the new HOH!!! www.bbchatter.com ONLY IF you wanna know!

219!? Fantastic Laura!!

DH & I honeymooned @ Sandals in Jamaica (Montego Bay) & I'd suggest taking some $ as there are "optional" activities you can purchase while there... massages, catamaran booze cruises, walking up a waterfall...

Everyone travelling... have fun!!!

DS comes home today, yay!... I've missed the little bugger!!

Make it a great day, Vi's!

Good morning, Violets..

Beautiful sunny day here in Northern Michigan. Hope to get in the pool again this afternoon for some exercise. Ethan arrived at 7:30 and we've been going ever since. For Breakfast I shared a slice of toast with Peanut Butter with him. Also had 4 segments of mandarin oranges.

Yes, this accountability for food seems to be working.. yay, Laura!!! But we also need to be accountable for exercise. Take it from one who knows. We should be listing our exercise for the day along with the food intake. When I look at what everyone is eating, we should be dropping pounds like crazy. Think how we used to eat!!! The key has to be exercise along with the eating. So how bout we log in that too?

Gotta run to a rehearsal. Catch ya all later!!

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
