Michelle...

Get thee to a doctor! Ethan had pink eye last week and it didn't look bad the first day. But I told his mom he needed to have it looked at. Sure enough it was pink eye and they had to treat both eyes. But it was much better in a day or two. You don't want to be all pink and puffy for the trip!!

Ethan is here and he's playing with my keyboard so there's "music" in the air!

Pam..yup... we "relaxed" in the hot tub last night. la la la la la la How many more days of school for you???? Kindergarten Round Up here is the 27th and 28 and our end of the year Breakfast is the 6th of June. Can't wait to go back and see all my colleagues. They haven't seen me since early last June. Gotta go strut my stuff!!

Morning Gals

I have so much to do today I'm freaking out. I just got up, worked all weekend, (my last sunday night), going to shower and drop ds off at the sitter. Have to go to sprint to have them program my phone so I can actually use all of it.

Have a 12:appt then would like to tan, have to be to work at 2, then pick up ds on my way home. Pack everything except for my jeans that I have to wear to work, 5:30 guy is coming to til my back yard so I have to dig up 2 hasta before he gets here and need to be in bed by 8 so I can get up at 4am to get to work.

We did have a nice mothers day, had a bbq with a few neighbors, everything was good, i could hardly eat but what I did eat was good.

Kat, what a mess...Kind of do feel bad for Rick... how do you deal with that????

Terry - glad you had a nice day with mom. Kids... well, I missed sending my mom an actual card 1 year but called and sent a gift. I will never do that again. LOL

my dd (13) got me with her allowance stain and brushes and is going to restain my front porch this weekend while I'm gone. Isn't that so nice. It has not been done in a few years and needs it, and i put my hammocks up and my landscaping lights so it will be so nice to be finished.

Michelle, don't get sick now girlfriend!!!!! LOL

Yep, she want to le buerge du lac (sp?). New casino in Lousiana. Can't wait for her reviews! Me and my aunts have been wanting to go since it opened. How was everyones weekend? I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day. And Pammy I hope you weren't too sad yesterday. I know it's hard for you. (((hugs)))

My weekend was busy and it flew by, as always is the case. Time just is flying for me. I can't believe we're already in May. Friday I baked 4 dozen Cookies for some gift baskets for friends that are moms. Saturday we hit the mall early for some sales they were having. Me and my sister found lots of good deals. Then we went to the cemetary to leave flowers for my grandmother and we spent some time there. I know that she's not actually "there" but it does give me comfort to go and clean up her gravestone and to just spend some time there. Then Saturday evening we spent a few hours putting together the baskets for our aunts. They looked really beautiful and they really loved them.

Then Sunday was just crazy, trying to get everything cooked in the morning, church, and get over to my aunts on time. Me and Juan got into a huge fight. He really can't seem to ever be on time. For anything. And this drives me BATTY. He said he was going to do yardwork while I cooked. He asked me THREE times what time we were leaving the house. He went to go do my sisters lawn, his mom's lawn and then he was going to do our lawn. By the time he came around to our house it was already time to go. But of course, he said he wanted to finish and would I wait for him. I waited 45 min and finally just left in a huff. Why o' why do I let him get to me?

Haydee~ this made me laugh. You will never change him or his "timing"...ever. So, you gotta figure out ways to trick him. If you need to leave @ 11...tell him 10! Susanne is always on me about being messy. The other day she comes out of the garage and kitchen and said, "Damn, you can tell everywhere you've been...why don't you shut a drawer or cabinet?" To which I replied..."I'll never be as neat as you want me to be...so you can either live with it, or not. I doubt I'll change this late in life." We laughed about it...but I know it drives her BATTY too! Tardiness, messiness, whateverness...but you still gotta love us!

xoxo

No one has called me!!!

Does that mean no one has my number or I'm not worthy to check?!

Another set of human remains have been found, a couple miles from the first set. Startin' to get a little creepy since it is near my house. Making sure to lock my doors at night lately.

What beautiful pictures, Tracy!! Those are keepers for sure! Robby looks like a maniac. (I love, love, LOVE little boys!!) (NO!! Not that way!!)

Haydee - We've been to LaBerge DuLac (or however its spelled)... we went for the day but couldn't afford the $500/night they wanted for a freakin' room! $500/night in LAKE CHARLES?? We just laughed at them! I could fly to Vegas and stay at the Wynn for that! LOL Anyway...the pool is fantastic, golf course is very nice but the casino is crowded and expensive! High stakes blackjack and the slots are tight as hell. We left there and went to go dance at a zydeco club and had sooooooooo much fun!! Much more fun than than the casino!!

He IS a maniac! and that hair......... he did it himself! He is SOOOOO funny... he wears out his grandparents because he is go go go go collapse get up and go go go some more!

NSV: yesterday he and I played basketball.. I was teaching him how to shoot.....

Later when Charles started talking about how spouses of bandsters needed their own support group.. I got defensive and said..... I don't see how it should affect you... I always find something to eat when at a restraunt while you order whatever you want.. and its just that I not longer live to eat.... and I'm sorry but giving up a piece of garlic bread is definately worth being able to get up and play basket ball with my son!

Also... Laura or Tracy.. did you guys make it to phase two?

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
