Hey Judy, our church is looking for an interim pastor!! One of our 3 is retiring this summer and they want an interim while they decide what to do. If he can be presbyterian the job is his!!!

Jane

Actually, we are in a formula of agreement with the Presbyterian church so YES, he can.. But I don't think you're within the 4 hour driving limit.. :tt2:

Pam & Jane-so it is unanimous...we want Ryan to win. :tt2: I have been wanting him to win for a long time...even though I hope he dumps his girlfriend. I wonder what he is going to say when he finds out she really DID tell Parker that he is a racist. Wish I could be a fly on the wall for that one. Maybe they will show that tape at the finale and we can see the look on his face live when he realizes his girlfriend is a sneaky lying little witch! That would be cool. Evil aren't I? lol

The past couple of days I have not really been a good girl as far as food goes. I ended up eating what they catered in for us at our meetings. I will start again tomorrow and get back on track.

Thanks for all the positive comments about how proud of me you all are for not smoking. It is nice to hear, so thank you all very much!

Michelle-how are your dear friends?

Have a great evening everyone!!

Took this page over 5 minutes to load----sorry everyone is having problems, but it is kinda nice to know it isn't something wrong with just mine!!! Like I told Michelle---I have no clue on what to do when something's hinky with this computer!!!

Well Rick is off early, and messing with the irrigation----I was right, the guy down the alley shut it down, he let his freeze and break....such a moron!!!

Jenn---excellent news on your electric bill. Our cost of living is so much cheaper, it is unbelievable!!!

Well you Mon-Fri girls are on the down hill slide now!!!!

Will see if this will post---or if I am wasting my time, the page keeps re-loading, it is definitely not right yet.....that sux!!!

Pam and Tracy, OH MY GOSH!!! I went over to my parents after work tonight and they were watching BB from tonight that they had taped!!!! Could Shelia have 'been more devasted'? I think that was the word she kept using. SHUT UP AND QUIT CRYING!!!! She will be so embarrased when she watches it back. It for some reason just drove me crazy!! There I feel better after venting!!

Think it is early to bed for me tonight. I did fair with my eating today....it is sooooo much easier for me to stay on plan in the summer months when we can throw something on the grill with a salad or a veggie, and it be good. Winter I tend to WANT to cook, and nest, and it is always a foodfest!! Old habits!

I spent the morning cleaning closets, and digging through things. Sure feels good to purge a bunch of junk!!! I found it hard to get rid of some of my good old standby clothes. 3X things I still insist on putting on, until one of the honest ones---DH, DD, Becky---tells me it looks ridiculous!!! I got rid of it all!

Took a walk again after dinner. Had an elderly man ask me if I was the one who walked by his house each evening last year, I thought maybe he was losing his sight or something, so I told him yes, that usually my DH walks with me, but he had a hard day at work so I was alone. He told me, he had to ask, because I had lost so much weight he was not sure. I walked home a happy girl!!!

Hope the site is ok tomorrow, I missed you girls-----but I stayed in the house and got a lot done!!! LOL

Nighty Night

Hey Girlies~

I missed you all today. Hate LBT w/drawls...they are bad. I posted this morning and then WHAMO...the whole site pooped out! I had about 25 LBT pop up screens and I could not stop it. I ended up control/alt/delete just to get 'em to stop.

Janie and Tracy~ Did you notice when Shelia was "bawling" that her entire face was dry?!? WTF...was she auditioning for something. I mean really! I hated it, felt a little bad for her too. But the drama w/ Julie...PPPAAALEEASE!

OK...another Violet down! I talked to Terry today! I love it! I've chatted w/ Michelle, TracyK, and now Terry! I had to share a little secret w/ her about our trip...but it was great to just talk. Terry, I sent you the gmail email addy too!

Well, Susanne is here and we are watching SVU...then heading to bed. Have a great night ladies!

Pam & Jane-I did not feel sorry for her at all. DH noticed that her face was dry during her act. I just hate it when people get on the show and start acting as if they need the cash more than anyone else there. If you need the money so bad, don't leave for 3 months to be on TV....stay home and work or go on a game show to get rich quick. OK, I am done with the rant! lol

Good morning violets!

No Houston today

Jenn-good luck today! Hope you get a fill.

Have a great day everyone :hurt:

Morning girls

overall it is starting off good, only 2lbs of bloat left and i'm personally happy with that, or glad that it is gone, will be happier after a fill and major losses. Pray for me

have a full day today - It is going to cool down next week, low 60's for a couple of days and after 2 weeks finally going to rain. We had the sprinkler on the front yard the other day when ds was playing and now need to mow there and enjoy the sunshine while it is still here

Morning Violets~

I did not get a fill yesterday. Long story, but I got very sick during 7th period...so much so, I spent the entire period in the potty (thank goodness Cindy was on her prep...I owe her). Anyway, I had a very important meeting afterschool, so I had to take 2 Imodium (will I ever go potty again?). I was sick, dry mouth, head spinning...cold sweats...yuck. The culprit??? Iced sugar free coffee from McD's. I was online researching how many calories were in this "sugar free" beast, cause it tasted soooo good. Too good. They have the nutritional value for the regular coffees, but not the sugar free. Anyway, I WONT be having one of those again anytime soon!

I slept in a bit. Gotta run now. Terry, everything looks good on the spread sheet...thanks, I was finally able to get on there!

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
