Morning V's.

Yesterday I had 4 bites of the weight control oatmeal.. 1/2c of honey chicken and 1/2c of fried rice (spread over 2 sessions).. 2 scrambled eggs, 1 sausage patty, 1/4c grits (maybe), and 2 bites of Coca Cola chocolate cake.

Ok so, the people trying to sue me for the wrong crap.. well as I was about to go off on a rant, she just called and said they dropped it. Anyway, I had a drafted letter explaining I'm not the person they're looking for and blah blah.. then yesterday I got a letter saying the court date has been set. I was fuming. So I called the plaintiff today (dentist office) and explained to them, that the attorneys are horrible and they said they lost the file, and would call me back- but never did. So I complained to them basically, this is really annoying to me who did nothing to be summoned to a whole nother county for crap. So they called the attorney and had them call me. And they just said it's been dropped. I know what attorney I'm never hiring.. ho hum.

DH left his credit card at the bar last night when we were bowling. He realized it was gone, then yellin' at ME, and I go "I didn't take it, why are you fussing at me??" and I'm helping him retrace his steps, he says "Last thing I used it for was cigarettes". And I go "What about the bar tab?"...What would men do without us??? I called the bowling alley, they had it.. the owner of the bowling alley is best friends with my dad, so I asked them to give it to him and we'll get it later.

-------

AND SOME EXCITEMENT!!!! I am a fairy lover yeah.. well I collect all kinds of fairy stuff, always looking for new and unique.. and beautiful. A couple years ago I discovered an upcoming fairy artist, that IMO had the most beautiful fairy items I've ever seen. She is right up my alley frankly, she makes fairy stuff that I would make if I had talent. Anyway, so her first art gone statue was a horse/fairy.. I was so in love with it, I begged DH to let me pay $80 for it. That's pretty expensive for a figurine!! It was limited edition, eh whatever.

So I gorged, here it is - chanceencounter_small.jpg

Around the same time she also had one with a black cat, I liked it but I couldn't justify another $80. We were reeeeeally broke back then. Yesterday, I went looking to buy the other one -- faeryofblackcat_small.jpg And what do I find? She is now a famous fairy artist, and everyone wants her horse statues.. and they didn't make that many. Only 2 years later they sell from $800-$1,500. So needless to say, I'm not getting that 2nd one. BUT the one I have is worth some money! Who knew! I'm not selling it, but maybe my kids will one day.

Yeah, the cat one I want on e-bay is at $900 I think. Then while looking around, I saw she did another equestrine one that I love "Serenity". Darn limited edition stuff. I can't find this one, even on e-bay. I'm really on the fence about it, I love figurines and collect them, so it's a bummer I can't get the ones I WANT.. but still neat the one I got is worth something.

Morning girls---

Wow, so we are all confessing our sins of yesterday?

Let's see I ate....

1/2 a container of apple pie turnover yogurt with 1/4 c. granola

about 1 cup of vegetable Soup for lunch

1/2 cup of baby goldfish crackers

about 3/4 of one of the cinnasnacks Manda had.

1 full taco and about 3 bites of another for dinner.

I drank almost 2 quarts of tea at home, then had tea with my dinner out last night as well, and drank a bottle of Water while we were shopping after dinner.

Not the greatest day, but not too bad overall.

The baby goldfish...I snack on slowly. The bag says they are 140 calories per serving---but that is like 89 fish. I never eat that many at a time. A bag lasts me all week! I get full VERY fast if I eat them, so maybe a dozen or 2 dozen max each time I snack on them. They "fix" my salt & crunch cravings!!!

I had such high hopes for this weekend....well my weekend was supposed to have started because Rick is off, but his folks have already roped him in, and he left mad---so it is not boding well for the weekend. His Mom calls, and his Dads 4 wheeler won't start, so he is going to walk down and take care of the cows, and she is going to go out and watch him---she'll be back in to call and let us know if he makes it ok without falling in all the mud. OMG I want to call her names!!!!!! If you want him to fix the damn 4 wheeler, be an adult and say so, quit with the friggin' manipulation! So I let him rage for a while, and he was getting ready to leave and go fix the ATV, and she called....if he decided at some point to come out today could he maybe run into town and pick up the woodstove they bought. The stove is used, it weighs no less than 350 pounds, so what he is supposed to go get it by himself, and then what???? So yep, he will fix the ATV, get the stove, loaded, unloaded. Move out the old stove, and install the new one. He is in for a shock, because somewhere along the line a parts run will come up--they always do, and I am boycotting, let them do SOMETHING for themselves! OR ask. Treat him well. Maybe Tuesday when I rip the receptionist, I should stop by their house and tell them off too!

I am seriously mad at them right now. But I do love them, and I do understand they are 80 years old. I know they need help. So all I want them to do is appreciate what he does. The entire time he is spending his days off taking care of them, and all their needs, he will have to listen to the stories from his Mom about his brothers trip to Hawaii, and how successful he is to be able to take these trips, and how he offered to pay for his married son to go....and how wonderful they are. Yet when his brother is here or calls and we say Rick did this or that out there, he has not heard a word of it--they NEVER brag on or compliment, nor appreciate the things he does and the time spent doing it.

I am sorry for harping on this again----and I thank you so much for listening! It is such an issue with me--and I cannot mention it to my kids---they get mad, or my folks---they get mad----and they will treat them different, and I don't need that!!!

I figure it is easier for y'all to scroll past me, than for Beck to hang up on me!!! LOL

Pamela, I am so glad Susanne made it back, and seems to be sleeping.

Awesome figurine Laura. There is a store here in town that sells the cards like the one I sent you---but the cards are huge--like bigger than a sheet of paper! maybe 9X12. I always think of you when I see the fairy ones!!!

My first husbands uncle was not normal mentally, he was quite slow, and as sweet as the day is long. He posed for Gerald Farm, an artist who did lots of cards, and posters etc. for Leaning Tree. Mr. Farm looked out for him, made sure he always had money and clothes.

He was such a sweetheart. The ignorant family was ashamed of him.

The day we got married, was this fairly formal evening wedding, candlelit mostly, with dimmed chandeliers. On my way down the aisle I stopped and give my Mom a rose, and on the way back out, I stopped to give his mom a rose. There in the aisle across from the family was this little man, in denim striped coveralls & work boots. Sitting next to him in the pew was his bright orange hard hat, and his lunch box on one side. He was grinning his toothless grin his eyes were beautiful and sparkly, he looked so excited, and sitting next to him was my cousin Trish. That kind of confused me....she said the family all treated him like he wasn't supposed to sit there. Well Trish was manning the guest book, so he ask if he was in the right place, and was so ill at ease, she went to sit with him for the ceremony. She said he was wonderful....once I knew who he was and about him, I come to agree! I have the entire collection of cards he was on. His name was Leroy....I will always love him. The fairy cards you like, are sold in many of the same places Mr. Farm sold his, including the ones with Uncle Leroy.

Sorry I have rambled for so long....but thinking of Uncle Leroy diffused some of my anger---along with unloading on you girls!!!

Big old Thank you hugs!!

Kat

In-Laws.. I feel ya ((Kat))

The fairy card you sent me was by Josaphine Wall.. When I first discovered her a couple years ago, I bought several posters, and I have bought a ton of greeting cards of hers whenever I stumble across them. My mom sent me several posters too (she really liked them). She never made things like figurines though, but she has the most intricate and picture-inside-picture paintings.. it's fantastic. The figurines I get, are Nene Thomas.. she makes a painting, then they turn it into a statue, cards, ornaments, globes, etc. etc.

http://www.laceylady.com/nene-thomas-fairies/partingtheveil.jpg

you can see the painting that the statue I have is based off of there.

Terry, Loved that.

Working on lunch here. 1- string cheese, 1/2 cup cottage cheese with pineapple. Unfortunately I have already had 4 Famous Amos Cookies. (they were so good).

I have to work this afternoon. 2:30-7:30. I kinda like the afternoon shift. I can get alot done in the morning and it keeps me away from the afternoon munchies.

TracyKS must be really busy. Hope all goes well with the wedding.

Terry, the money I set aside to pay you, I should have just paid you! I ended up spending it all on NeNe Thomas crap.

I will make the money back within 2 weeks doing my video game where I sell clothes, but I had the exact amount set aside just for you. I'm horrible like that!

Amy Brown was my favorite fairy artist for eons (really the only notable one I can think of years ago), till I then found Josaphine Wall and then Nene Thomas. The lower back tattoo I have, is a picture I made using the fairy from one of her pictures.. and I changed the color scheme, then designed tribal vines that formed the heart, and the streaks going across my hips. But the center is one of her fairies (sitting indian style and crying). If you look at my back shots of B&A you can see it from a distance hehe.

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
