Hi, I was banded on Nov. 17th of 07, since then I have lost 24lbs. I have had one fill, but I do not know if it took - I thought I felt restriction right afterward but it was gone within a day. Since then I have been trying to get back in for another fill but the office keeps pushing my date back for various reasons. Now I am scheduled to go in 10 days, and I am so depressed. I have not lost any weight since my first fill (does this mean perhaps the fill didn't take?) I am trying to exercise at least 2x-4x per week, up to an hour at a time on the elliptical machine (the machine says that I burn 600cal, but I am still not losing weight.)

I am glad to have found this thread. Any suggestions on what I should do before I go back for my next fill. I am actually nervous to go back since I have not lost any weight since the last fill. Please help my fellow bandsters .

Krs: I have the same problem. I have had 3 fills and I still don’t feel a whole of a lot of restriction. I am nervous also because I know I am going to be disappointed in my self because I have not really following my healthy eating plan. But the longer I wait the more weight I am going to gain. As far as your doc’s office putting you off for any reason. Don’t take that crap. I don’t know how far you are from the office but I would just go in there the days he/she does fills and not leave till they agree to give you what you paid for. That’s a bunch of crap. That would make me pretty mad. I would just try to get back on track and focus on getting your Protein in and do you best to make exercise a part of your daily routine. The weight will start to come off once you get proper restriction. Good luck.

I recently had my third fill and so far so good. After gaining weight I had a reality check. I felt depressed but not surprised I new I wasnt doing what I was suppose to but I was always hungy. My surgent said he sees this all the time with people who dont get restrictoins when they need to. After an adjustment my surgent has me do two days fluids two days soft food then work my way to solids again avoiding Soups and soft food. I relieze more then ever after this surgery that i am seriously addicted to food. before this last adjustment I was eating ice cream like crazy and my portions where out of control. This may sound weird but I have been helping a relative deal with acohol adiction and attended meetings with them that has been helping me I learned that I have to survender and aknowledge that I have a problem. Then I thought to myself if my relative can give up drinking then I should be able to do this. I would like to attend my baratric support group however its not helpful much because must of them have had bipass surgery and all you hear is the sucsess stories this web site is way more helpful : )

Hey, we can't change the past, right? So just pick yourself up by the bootstraps and dive in head first again! Don't even think about the past!

I was banded 6/11/07 and I've only lost 25 pounds so don't feel bad. And the first 20 was lost in the first week after surgery! We just gotta support one another! Best of luck to you!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
