January Exercise - HAPPY NEW YEAR! :)

Recommended Posts

Hey everybody,

I hit the gym this morning and did step, It alone kicked my butt but I hung in there for Zumba, and I did the whole class. So 2 hours or 120 minutes for that...Then I did the elliptical for 35 minutes... So 155 minutes today of exercising. My butt is kicked..I am sore all over and I am going to rest.. If I get up to it I may run on my elliptical at home tonight. Have a good night.

Yeah it is gross to think about.

Walking/running for an hour today for me.

Okay Stef I will stop on the festering rotting flesh talk. But the veggie burger I am eating is delightful. Day two of my Vegan diet is complete. It was not easy either, going to A&w with the familty and just sipping on iced tea, but I did it. I am pretty proud of myself.

I may be burning more calories than I think! If I use the calculator on my bike, it's only 300 calories per hour. My elliptical measures in kjoules but it took me much longer and more effort to burn an equivalent 300 calories than on the bike. The online calculators all say more like 500 to 600 calories per hour with vigorous effort, which what I'm definitely giving! Oh, well, better to burn more than I think! :)

I have a pretty good pedometer that also measures calories from aerobic activity but I need a new battery. I also used to have an HR monitor but somehow lost the chest band. I probably just need to go back to measuring minutes spent exercising.

You rock babygrl, it is sooo hard to go grocery shopping and not by meat, dairy, eggs, etc.....I know. I did it today. I'm not going vegetarian, but I think I'm cutting out dairy, for now...

And Stefanie, gotcha, no more nasty dairy talk. It is quite disgusting!

I had so much fun you guys! I just keep thinking about how much fun I had in Zumba... Step was hard...I thought I could have died... I have to go a little slower but I get the workout. (I am sitting in a chair with the massager turned on high with heat). I am so sore....I came home and cleaned my house...I don't know what my problem was today...Wish I could do that every day...Do I consider the whole class cardio? I mean the classes are an hour long but we still tone some too? hmmm I may be figuring that wrong?

Hey whosya! Thanks for the list of music! I will have to post mine sometime...You and your wife are adorable! Love the picture! I can't believe you didn't like the elliptical.....I love it I am addicted.

Haha. Too funny. I ate 2/3 of a cheeseburger today and thought 'you are what you eat' the whole time. Ugh. I'm buying Skinny Bitch in the Kitch tomorrow. I need it.

Also exercising tomorrow - come hell or highwater!

LOL Thanx, BG! You know I heart you! And that is so amazing that you went to an A & W and just sipped tea! I am proud of you, too! There is NO WAY I could have avoided ordering a root beer float! What brand is your veggie burger? I can't find one I like.

38 miles on my bike today. I didn't keep track of the time, it was so gorgeous outside. I guess I'll find out when I download my bike computer tomorrow. It was a GLORIOUS 79 degrees today! Unbelieveable! If it is even half as nice tomorrow, I'm gonna start early and shoot for 60 miles!

stefanie, 38 miles?!! Where do you bike? Everytime I think about it, I fear someone will just run me over. It was a beautiful day yesterday wasn't it?! Sunday is supposed to be even warmer!

BTW, do we pm you our weekly cardio/rt? If it's for 1/6/08, do I include 1/6 in the total minutes?

Yeah so the Brand was Veggiburger but I threw the other 3 away since after I ate it and read the ingredients, it has fucking egg whites in it. WTF?!?!?! I should ahve read the label first but when you see veggiburger you don't think there is gonna be animal products in it. But it was good. Apparently I need to stick to Boca or Gardenburger. Needless to say I was not very happy with myself for not reading labels beforehand. Won't make that mistake twice.

As for the A&W, I did not even want to touch the soda. That is jsut waaaay to many wasted calories for me. It was much harder to not have the fries or onion rings while I was sitting there starving. But we went to Walmart afterward and I munched on some almonds. I guess if I am gonna eat something fattening, better it be healthy fat lol.

Ok Guys, I am jumping on your train. I need to start the New Year off right! I have like 20lbs to go and it is the hardest for me. I also need to get my legs in better shape.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
