I Was A Diet Pepsi Drinker. I Dont Miss It At All. My Husband Bought Me A Case Of 24 Oz bottles 3 Weeks Before My Surgery Last January 2007 And There Is Still 2 Six Packs Of It Sitting There. I Drink Maybe 1 Diet Pepsi A Month . I Drink Crystal Lite And Water Now.

when i was a c-store manager i used to drink at least 44 oz of diet coke, twice a day. i started drinking it about 12 yrs old, as that was what my dad had at his house. the last year before my band i would stop at QT for a 44os rooster booster lite on my way to work. i haven't had any soda since surgery, and i'm ok with that. if i need caffiene, i take a pill

If you believe most of the posts in this thread. Just about everyone became morbidly obese drinking diet soda.

I did become morbidly obese while drinking Diet Coke. I don't like "real" coke. It did not cause me to become obese, the food did. The thousands of calories I ate each day.

i think many people with food addictions(hello, my name is Miztr, and I'm a food addict) drink diet coke to offset calories eaten. i used to think it funny when as a teen cashier at burger king someone would order a double whopper with cheese, extra everything, and a 44oz diet coke. now, as an obese adult, i understand there are many more things involved...it's not just about eating to much. many underlying issues. i never cared for the taste of non-diet sodas...too sweet.

I gave up all carbonation a month before my surgery. Thought it might be too hard to do everything at once. I really crave it now and then, I just don't care for the alternates...have you seen what's left in a Coke machine that doesn't have carbonation? Yuk! Summer's easy cause I love sun tea. Hard at work though. Like Christa, I'm always feeling guilty since I hate drinking Water.

I was told the carbonation can stretch the pouch out even more, and I decided it wasn't worth the risk or a larger pouch. I want it small..so that I feel full quicker ;) Each to his own though...whatever works I guess!

My Dr said we didn't have to give it up!! I haven't been banded yet (in insurance approval anxiety right now), but I specifically asked him at our consult because I read on this board that most people had to give it up. He said the only thing he would recommend is to make sure it is Diet because we don't want the extra calories. So I am happy I still get to drink it!!

I was addicted to soda and I am just glad to be finally past that. Had I not had surgery, I would definitely still be drinking soda.

I tried a couple sips of soda about 3 or 4 months out of surgery. It was Coca Cola out of the fountain at Pei Wei. I felt so sick and it ruined the rest of my night. I don't want to feel that way again and I just never tried again.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
