I had my endoscopy today. Dr said I have a J stomach and some gastritis. That we will “stick to our plan for now”. Bypass scheduled for June 24th. Anyone else have this? Will this stop the surgery from happening?

If your surgeon isn't worried, I don't see any reason you should be worried about it.

If it will make you feel better, the best course of action would be for you to call his or her nursing staff and ask them what the results mean. They should be able to tell you if it's concerning at all, if you need to do anything different between now and your surgery date, and if this could in any way lead to delays or issues.

I'm not sure what the "J" stomach is, etc. but as stated, if the surgery is going to happen, then the surgeon isn't worried. I'd ask what was meant by the report, is it good or bad. Ask your surgeon.

A "J" shaped stomach is an accepted variation, but not considered an abnormal variation anatomy of the stomach. Your doctor was just stating its shaped differently, but nothing should change your surgery or the outcomes. There really isn't anything to be worried about, your surgeon was passing along what was observed!
