Mild Pain on Left Side Under Breast

Recommended Posts

I am 8 weeks out and have noticed the last few days a mild pain right underneath the left breast. It's like a stitch you get when running. It is constant, but gets worse if eating or drinking anything. I have had one fill (12/10) and have 4cc in an APS band. I thought maybe I was eating too much or too fast, but since it happens when I drink, I don't think that's the case...very strange. Is this something to be concerned about?

Patty...I have the exact same thing!! I am almost three months out and had my first fill in my AP band on Nov. 30. I have a total of 4 cc's in it now. I get this pain at different times, but last night it was about an hour after eating my Christmas dinner. I have no real restriction yet and yes, I did eat more than my 1 - 1 1/2 cups of food. My stoma didn't feel any restriction and my stomach didn't feel too full at all, but then an hour later....yikes!!! We had to leave early and I thought I might even have to go to the emergency room! It really hurt...more than before. But once I got home and put a robe on, it was fine. Like you said, sometimes it is after eating and sometimes it is just after drinking. I wrote about it last night on another message board and no one else wrote that it was happening to them. So strange...I can see your stoma or your pouch hurting if you eat too much....but this is under or near my port site. I am so happy to read that you know what I am talking about!

It's me again. I just wanted to add that it isn't my gallbladder (already had it taken out) and my port is on my left side anyway.

Hi, the pain is really high up -it's at least 6 inches higher and to the left of the port. Kind of where the stomach is located, but off center. I took a gas-X today, and then another before I ate and I think it's better. I have been burping so much, that I think it might be referred pain from trapped gas. It does seem to be better...

I am three months post op and get the same thing. I think it is air or gas because if you "relieve yourself" the pain lessens. I don't get it a lot, but I have had the pain and believe this is what it is. Good luck and you may want to check with your doctor.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
