Plastic surgery😱👀

Recommended Posts

Guys,

While everything is trimming down nicely, i noticed my arms and belly have the most excess skin. Its not too bad but its annoying. My doctor said focus on weigh lifting and if im not happy in 3months he’ll refer me to a plastic surgeon. Thoughts? Also im only four months post op

a lot of plastic surgeons suggest you wait for a year after hitting your lowest weight, because it's very common to have a 10-20 lb rebound. I waited two years, and I'm glad I did since I did gain that much (actually, a little more). They say a gain of more than 10-15 lbs can affect the results.

I agree with catwoman. Better to wait until your weight is stabilized to get the best results. You’re younger, though you may actually not have a lot of extra skin. When I did my sleeve, I did not have a whole lot. Honestly, you may find that if you wait a year that you don’t even need it. If not, you can save your money for when you’re older and you really need something done

soooooooo I am about 10m post op and I am getting plastics at 1yr just for my boobies lol I have been weight lifting and I will say it TRANSFORMS your body. I have skin that will never tighten up no matter how much I do and eventually I will get that taken care of, but for now I have no chest area and its really really really bothering me. So FOR ME I am getting those done. I have maintained my weight within +/- 5ish lbs for about 2 months and I will continue to do so forever.

In the mean time I am lifting like a mad woman and trying to tighten up LOL

I can't afford plastic surgery so have had to make do without.

My skin laxity has definitely improved in the almost 3 years since my surgery.

I was also certain in the first blush of weight loss in the first year that never would I ever regain even a single ounce, but I did regain quite a lot despite my resolution not to.

Haha that's all I have to say! My arms are still the most visible saggy skin I have and they look way better 3 years on. I would rather times a million have this 'problem' than my previous morbid obesity. No brainer.

Stomach and bum and legs nobody gets to see and have saggy skin - but also seem better as time progresses.

Breasts were the least unforgiving luckily, appearance wise.

I know we're all different and we want different things as we progress. Hoping you all get to where you want to be soon. 💚

Insurance paid for my plastic surgery because it was 'reconstrictive' rather than 'cosmetic'. Document rashes, infections, back-pain, and any other negative issues and insurance may pay. I was approved for tummy and thighs.

I had the Tummy Tuck which was a nightmare for me and my surgeon. The surgeon ghosted me after so I didn't get my thighs done, not that I was anxious to do them. I won't share the details as it was more of a me thing than anything else and I don't want to freak anyone out of surgery.

Good luck,

Tek

I'm actually technically able to get plastics right now if I want them, and BELIEVE ME I do, but I only just got my weight stable and not going down down down, so I want to give it a few months and see how it goes through the winter months and then revisit around March or April. I'd love to at least have my boobs, neck, arms, and tummy done by my birthday next year. That's really what I'm the most self conscious about. I'll eventually get the rest done, but Spanx pretty much takes care of any loose and wobbly skin on my butt and thighs. I don't do dresses or shorts, I wear capris or pants/jeans, so that's perfectly fine. But it's better to let your weight be stable for a while before you go have surgery. Too much fluctuation one way or the other could mess up what the surgery does and then you'll have wasted the money, time off work, and healing effort and time.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
