i don't start pre op diet until 3 days pre-surgery, so the 26th. Place I'm going say if your BMI is less than 50 - it's a 3 day pre op diet & above 50 is a 14 day pre op diet. Planning to stock up on broth! I heard there's a few nice ones. I also grabbed some clear Protein Powder to add to Water ( I also hate the shake style protein! drives my stomach mad).

Maybe if you drink the eggs Rocky style it counts as liquids? 😂

My doc is hard nosed. My BMI is under 40. 1 week of full liquids starting tomorrow followed by 1 week of Clear Liquids. I'm sad. Cooked dinner tonight and told my husband that it was all broth for dinner from now on. lol

Got the dreaded call again yesterday. Perhaps going to cancel me yet again. Surgery is slated for the 14th, they will let me know tomorrow the 13th. They're making it hard for me to love them. 🙄. Hate being in limbo.

How frustrating. Fingers crossed you can get it done asap!

It's official!😀 I am on for tomorrow the 14th. Been doing liquid diet since November 25th. I am so ready. I had prepped myself if it was cancelled. There was an omelet in my near future. Now it will be in the distant future but well worth the wait. Good luck and good health. Tomorrow starts a bright future!

Yeah. I asked my nutritionist about your diet; evidently that IS pretty hard core. My doc has me on a high, simple Protein diet which includes shakes but is not necessarily liquids. I've thrown some skinless (sauceless) chicken into the mix, along with some scrambled egg whites. Two days before is nothing but clear liquid. I plan to sleep a lot. : )

Pretty jealous of your chicken. 😆 I had strained cream of broccoli Soup tonight with unflavored Protein Powder added. It was delicious in comparison to the most sickeningly sweet Protein Shake I forced down for lunch. I am not going to be able to handle those shakes for very long, I'm afraid. I am much more of a savory person.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
