Cell Phones in Movie Theaters

I saw The Golden Compass tonight - excellent movie!

What I hate about going to the movies - watching everyone's cell phone light up when they open it to, what, look at their texts? I'm not that technologically advanced to even know how to text on a phone, so I'm assuming that's what they're doing. Anyway, the lighted up display is VERY distracting and annoying.

This rant is a little mild - it's because I'm too tired to pick out the right words, not because it's not irritating to me! :angry

My daughter and I went to see Alvin and the Chipmunks tonight. Wonderful children's movie. She really loved it.

And to the person behind me who kept kicking the back of my seat all night, right back at ya! :heh:

My daughter also wants to go see the Golden Compass. I think we might go see that tomorrow. I was too tired from her girl scout meeting today to do back to backs.

At Alvin last night, the theater was packed and a family of 4 came in just as the movie was starting and yelling over the sound wanted people to play musical chairs so they could sit together. If you cant get to the theater on time you should just settle for whats available or see the next one.

I completly agree and is it really that hard to get popcorn, sodas and drinks before the movie starts? I understand having to take your children to the restroom, but you knew someone was going to want something from concession before you came into the theatre.
