Buttery seafood sauce recipe needed

Recommended Posts

I already posted this question on another thread but really need a response for tonight so I will post here too. I used to eat my shellfish with drawn butter but of course that’s out nowadays and last time I had it with melted I can’t believe it’s not butter but it’s just not the same. I am wondering if anyone has a lower calorie buttery seafood sauce that is good on lobster and snow crab legs?? So far I found one online that used I can’t believe it’s not butter, onion, roasted garlic, chicken stock, lemon and seasonings which sounded promising but they roasted the garlic in olive oil which I try to stay away from just cause of the calories. Can I just roast the garlic with some Pam spray maybe?? How do you guys eat seafood post surgery?

Okay so I have been searching since I posted this and haven’t really found anything better than this recipe so far. I realized that I don’t have any fresh garlic anyways so I am just going to try it with rehydrated “garlic garlic” seasoning and see how it goes. With this one modification it’s pretty low calorie so I am hoping I like it.

Was it good? I melted the butter and dipped my fork tines in the butter to get the taste, but not too many calories. I’ve made sauces with olive oil or grape seed oil, or cook with the oils in spray can form from Trader Joe’s to keep amounts low. Sometimes I heat up a low calorie Salad Dressing for a dip, it brings out delicious flavors warmed up. I went out last fall with friends and ate my lobster with just the lemon. It was still tasty!

Okay so I just made the sauce and it’s not bad at all. I tried it with steamed veggies cause my hubby is still working on the rest of dinner on the grill. I have to confess I didn’t measure anything because I only needed a smaller portion and didn’t want to bother with the math but now I wish I had so I can replicate it. I do know that I used more garlic and onion than called for but that’s always a matter of taste.

Anyways, It’s not drawn butter type of good, of course, but it’s much better than just the melted fake butter I had last time right out of the tub and adding the chicken stock (diluting the margarin) decreases the calories so win-win. My husband likes it a lot. He already asked if I can make it again when we have salmon. If you like garlic and onion flavors i’d say it’s definitely worth trying. I’m sure it would be even better with fresh garlic.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
