Could it be that Im only drinking Water and Protein Shakes? Im not tolerating the Soups well. Anyone else having this issue?

This is a very typical issue. You just have to figure out what works for you. They have suppositories that seem to be the most powerful option according to what I’ve read on here. Once you do go you may want to do something daily to keep you regular at least until you get to more normal serving sizes. I took benefiber daily (Walmart has a generic powder that is much cheaper and worked fine for me).

happens to most that undergo general anesthesia. Took me 5 days... and i will say the first one hurts... alot lol. My surgeon prescribed a stool softener upon discharge.

I also had surgery on the 21st. Took a prescribed laxitive twice a day and sprinkled Fiber on some of my eats. Still didn't have my first until yesterday. I've read on here about people going almost 2 weeks. I wouldn't wait that long before checking with my doctor, but I wouldn't panic either.

Hummm. I had my surgery the 20th and haven’t really gone either. What is there possibly to get rid of? If all we are doing is drinking, how would we form a BM?

Welcome to the world of Constipation. This will be a pretty regular occurrence while you are losing.

shakes are often high fibre which can bind you but the Water should help keep things moving. You also are consuming very little & your body is using all of the nutrients so yiu don’t have a lot of waste.

You may need a stronger medication or process to get things moving like a suppository or enema. Some people do need additional help when the usual methods (laxatives, stool softeners, etc.) aren’t getting the job done.

It does get better as you near goal & are eating more & a broader range of foods.

Thank you for the response, I reached out to my dr and she advised me that dulcolax is safe to use so I went for the gusto and took 3 at once...... Wont do that again! Talk about nausea. But on the positive note it got things going again!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
