Today did not go well. When I got to the hospital to sign in. I was told that my surgery was canceled, because I tested positive for covid on Saturday. I know have to reschedule my surgery.

OMG I had covid in May, and they had to make sure my positive test was at least 6 weeks prior to surgery. I thought mine would have to be rescheduled but we had about 2 weeks leeway to spare. Then they moved it back another week anyway for something unrelated >.> The fear while she was doing the math was rough, even if only for a couple minutes.

It is going relatively well. I made it through the 4th only because the family didn't really have some big cookout. Probably because of me, which I am thankful for.

Day 6 of 14 now. So I do 4 Protein Shakes a day. For the first 12 days I can have unlimited non-starchy vegetables, 1 serving of fruit, and 1tbsp (I think) of fats (butter for veggies or half an avocado.

I have been sticking to just the Protein shakes as much as possible though and only use the veggies etc when I feel like I'm gonna die. As if the morning of Day 5 I was down 6 lbs.

Edit: Also helps that the hubs is doing it with me as much as he can. He works in a lumberyard so the heat and manual labor he needs his energy, but if he can, he will just drink Protein Shakes so I'm not alone. And if he does cheat I don't know about it, so I don't want to as well

Good for you, sticking to it!! So hard, especially without the positive feedback of quick weight loss post-surgery.

I agree that having a partner eat outside the home is super important. When I was doing a liquid-only diet (kinda like Optifast but a different brand through my Dr office), I was shocked how some friends and boyfriends would intentionally sabotage me by eating around me when they didn't absolutely have to. If you're starving, fine, I get it; but if it's just boredom eating or whatever, take it elsewhere!

Mine too! I'm glad I found this site as I didn't have anyone to go to for questions or support. My husband is 110% behind me but still such a huge change in my life when it used to revolve around food. I'm 46, 5'4" and 258#.

I'm glad you found it too. You're gonna do great. I lost 70 lbs on Keto at 46 and didn't have any saggy skin but now, since I had gained most of it back, My tummy is already drooping low and I've only lost 25 lbs pre-surgery.

My Doc told me to loose as much as I could pre-surgery by what ever means has worked for me. He told me I didn't need to go liquid until the day before. surgery. But that's my doc, not yours. I'm sorry you had to do that but it's preparing you for what's to come and it'll be exciting to get to do pureed food finally in bit.

WOW by the Grace of God 17 years ago I went to Mexico and had a lap band put on for weight loss and my waist was 64 inches and That’s more than 5 foot around and 18 stone my weight was 375 pounds. Today I went shopping for not sweats and I succeeded. I found pants and a shirt at an awesome price at Burlington by the way. But the real story here is, today. My waist is 45 inches and my weight is 260. Both incredible numbers but think about this. My waist is almost 20 inches smaller around Wow that’s a brain wrecker. Still, I love my band I even celebrate it’s birthday 10-26-06 FYI-it’s kind of like choking yourself, and never letting go. And trying to eat. lol Life is good

Hi all! I’m Heidi, a Canadian ex-Pat living in Sydney, Australia. I’m doing this surgery because my mom died 10 years ago from obesity, she lived her own 600lbs life.  So at 116kg, it’s time to make sure my daughters don’t lose their mom to obesity.

Drinking my favorite Premier Protein Shake for breakfast, and planned a nice healthy lunch today. Protein first, Veg second, then fruit, and carbs last.  💪
