I know it's really common to be cold after bariatric surgery. I've been cold all the time MY WHOLE LIFE. Now that I'm down over 100lbs it's becoming impossible. Today, I'm wearing a silk long sleeve undershirt, a long sleeve knit shirt, and a fleece, plus dress pants, thick socks, and short boots. I AM SO COLD! It's especially terrible when I have to sit still during work.

Has anyone found a good solution?

My husband is cold all the time too and he always wears two pairs of socks, even in summer. He says if his feet are warm he doesn’t feel quite as cold. I have the opposite problem. I am always hot. I am not sure which would be a worse problem to have, you can only take so many clothes off you know. Lol.

Ooh. Just a thought. You know what always makes me feel super hot is those compression undershirts. Maybe those would help you feel warmer.

for me, it doens't matter how many clothes I put on - if I am sitting, I am cold. Being constantly cold is terrible.

I can try one of those. I thought the silk undershirt would help, but it hasn't helped at all! thanks

Feeling the cold is terrible. I still do & it hasn’t really improved as some swear it does but I always felt more cold than others too. Can’t tell you how many people have thought I was strange buying long wool coats in winters - why do you need a coat you live in Queensland, the sunshine state, you don’t have winters!!

Cinemas & supermarkets are the worst. OH MY GOD. So cold it’s truly a physical pain. And offices, hospitals, doctor’s surgeries, etc where they set the air conditioning extra low arctic temperatures. Shudder. I always kept an extra woollen coat on my chair at work & another woman had a blanket she’d wrap around herself. The only time I appreciated the low temperatures was when I started menopause & before I began HRT 😆.

Keep your extremities warm - feet, hands & head. It’s where heat from your body escapes first - socks, fingerless gloves, scarves. I wear socks around my house 6+ months of the year. A blanket, like my colleague may help too. What about some thermals?

I have the same problem. I always ran a little hot but now I am always cold. Really weird for me. I just end up wearing a fleece or vest around all the time to stay warm, even in the warmer weather that we have seen. I guess I will be better off in the summer not sweating my ass off.

I brought my fleece throw blanket to the site I'm working at today - I bought it for airplanes. It's not really helping. I can't really get hot drinks all day long, since I'd have to buy them. I always think I'll be warm enough because I SHOULDN'T need a winter coat when it's 60 degrees out, plus it's hard to bring a winter coat on a flight!

What about heated socks? I know you shouldn’t need them but at least they aren’t as cumbersome as a coat.

I've never heard of heated socks. I'll have to see whether they can be brought on a plane (I fly every week).

Ooh they are so cool. I live in florida so I had never heard of them either. I got them for hubby for Christmas and he loves them. They just have rechargeable batteries. Or should I say they are so not cool. Lol

I just did a quick search on Amazon (I love Amazon) and they have heated everything!! Even Long Johns. I have to remember those for the hubby this Christmas. I just searched heated clothes.

yeah, I saw all the heated clothing on Amazon, but I'm not sure about packing it on flights. I barely have enough room for my fleece. Most had mediocre reviews. I ordered some hand warmers and thermal pants and tops, and we'll start there. Thank you for giving me such wonderful suggestions, everyone!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!

      Today was rough...
I've been experiencing a headache all day today that just won't go away. I'm thinking it's now progressing into a migraine. Does anyone else get headaches from taking vitamin B12? I did some research and learned that usually a lack of B12 causes headaches. But I've noticed when I take it, I have reoccurring headaches. 😫
