Hi Cynthia- hope you had a wonderful vacation! Here's the link to the other TLCEdge thread. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f11/tlc-edge-70541/

Not sure what you'll be able to do- you'll never be able to please everyone, no matter what you do.

I wasn't able to make the Saturday meeting but I'll try again next month. It would have been nice to meet some of the others who post here! I'm doing ok since my last fill- but I'm having to learn how to eat all over again. Nothing seems to want to go down except soft foods. How is everyone else doing?

Pat

Thanks Pat! I will see if I can help her/him.

It is funny as I had to relearn to eat after each time I got a fill as well! New restriction--new way to chew!

The good news is that when we are banded, we tend to lose weight on trips. I just got back from a cruise and found out I lost 2 pounds! Wahoo! Not even trying. Just was more active than I normally am. Ate lots of good food, but I don't think I overdid it. My sister was ticked as she gained about 5 pounds!

Love my band!

Cynthia.. Wow.. that's fantastic to lose 2 pounds with all that food 24 hours a day! I've been on several, and we've got two more booked (one in November, one in March). I was told years ago that the secret to not gaining weight on a cruise is to *always* take the stairs everywhere you go. Question: Did you have any trouble finding food you could eat? That's my only concern- living for 7 days on mashed potatoes. *lol*

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who's had to learn how to eat again after a fill. It's been frustrating.. I've PB'd more this past 2 weeks than in the whole 6 months since my surgery. I don't think I'm too full. My problem is that I wait until I'm STARVED before eating- then I eat too fast and don't chew well enough. I'll learn the hard way, I guess.

I hope that person with the bad experience will communicate with you. I just hated seeing them blast you guys when just about everyone on this thread has had good experiences there. I just couldn't imagine you taking this lightly! Good luck!

Pat,

I was with my mother, so we never took the stairs. I just went slow and chewed well. I am glad you have recognized your problem with this fill, Try to eat at specific times in order to stay on top of the hunger.

Thanks for defending us on the post. I hope she calls!

Does anyone know anything about the tlcedge multimedia community. I noticed that was part of the services and I didn't know if that was the same thing as the yahoo group or something different? The only thing I received info about, after surgery, was DFW bandsters on yahoo.

I hope everyone is doing well.

Pat,

I couldn't help reading that post on the other tlc thread. WOW!!!! Talk about getting defensive. I didn't think anything you said sounded hostile, but I guess that person was already upset, so it didn't matter what you said, if it wasn't in agreement with their experience.

I hope he/she gets their problems resolved. Everyone I have had contact with has been so professional and courteous. I have yet to get my first fill, but I have confidence it will go well.

I also didn't get to make the support group on Saturday. It was just too hot. I am sure I missed a good meeting and hope to make the next one. I don't do extreme heat too well and I would have had a two hour drive in my black, heat attracting car to get there. I need to find a lighter car. I can't wait to meet you and everyone else.

Sincerely,

Stephanie

Stephanie,

Actually, the DFW Bandsters group is the best for the multimedia. We did have a group for multimedia, but no one got involved, so we decided to nix it. Plus the DFW Bandsters is the better deal...more people involved!

I got the $9,990 price and used Dr. Kim, but it applied for all of the doctors. I think I got the price because I called them and told them that I was thinking about going to Mexico to have it done.

Everything is negotiable especially if you are paying cash. I would just call and talk to them about price.

Hey everyone. I got a fill yesterday and learned that Ruben was leaving. Any details about that? It is pretty upsetting because he is the best.

My fill yesterday didn't go so well. The new girl (I am really bad with names) did it and it hurt and she had a hard time finding my port. Roben just pokes the needle right in.

Shannon,

George (Rueben) is leaving and we will miss him. Kim will be great, just have a wee bit of patience. We have several that have been trained to do fills by Allergan and are coming up in the ranks. So sorry she hurt hyou. I remember in the early days of my banding, I use to look like someone had smacked me around for all the bruises I got! Yikes!

Hang in there!

Hi all~

I've been away from the message board for a month or so and wanted to say Hello and see how everyone is doing.

Since August 1st, I've been working again....and have really been drinking a lot of my Protein bullets and carnation instant Breakfast shakes. I was on a plateau but it seems to be moving again:) YAY!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
