Gained it all back.

I had my surgery 12/20/20. I was doing well until I had a near fatal car accident on 8/9/21. I had a head injury and am still in a wheelchair. I regained all the weight I lost. I really need support. How can I get back on track. My surgeon does not have a support group. I am getting occupational therapy, physical Therapy and speech therapy. But since I cannot walk without support and I still cannot drive. I will begin therapy with a psychologist hopefully she can help me with depression and possibly my eating disorder. What do you recommend I do?

I sorry you have had such a huge setback with your weight loss surgery. I hope you're recovering well post your accident. And I am sure therapist should help bring you back on track in terms of your mental health which may help restart your weight loss journey.

Since physically, you'll be extremely inactive, first step should be working through diet regiment. Restart the program and go back to your surgical weight loss diet phase. Of course you'll only be able to do that once eyoi get your eating disorder in somewhat control.

Good luck with your journey and wish you all the very best.

I’m so sorry for all that you are going through. I think your plan to see a psychologist is a really good one though and I’m sure your physical therapist will teach you some exercises you can do as soon as you are ready. Once you work through some of your issues with the psychologist perhaps another visit with your nutritionist would be helpful.

Really have to get with the nutritionist and start from scratch. Reset your pouch and get back on the program.

pouch reset is not a real thing. It's a myth.

To OP, I'm so sorry you're having such a hard time. It's very hard to deal with trauma and lose weight at the same time. You can lose the weight again, but make sure you're in a good place and don't push yourself too hard while you are still recovering. Hopefully you have a therapist who is experienced with food issues.

Your physical therapist is the best person to help you figure out what exercises you are able to do, but no amount of exercise can undo a bad diet. I would recommend you start by TRACKING what you're eating. Weigh and measure your food and be honest and complete in your food log. Then, focus on the basics: lean Protein, vegetables, and complex carbs and fruit last (try to limit sweets, but you don't have to be 100% perfect; just 80-90% of the time!)

Good luck to you!

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
