Feb 2 VSG in Texas.

My program doesn't require a liquid diet so I start my liver shrinking low carb diet the 19th. I'm working on cutting out caffeine before surgery and just getting my supplies ordered and ready so I don't have to worry about it post-op

Don’t stock up on too much that someone else won’t eat. Our tastes often change post surgery, especially for sweet things such as Protein Shakes. I ended up haven’t a couple cases of shakes that I couldn’t stand post surgery.

Oh I'm not going nuts, just like 30 days of the Multivitamins (chewable), the Calcium tabs, stuff like that, that I know will absolutely slip my mind if I don't get them now. I haven't ordered any Protein yet, I know I want to get a few of those Protein Shots for right after surgery then I'll probably just try stuff and see what I like from whatever I can find locally. I do appreciate you looking out tho!!

Premiere Protein has a variety pack for sale on Amazon. Not sure if they sell it in stores. I’ve not seen it at my Walmart or target. I don’t know if they ever added the caffe latte to the variety pack but it’s really good if you like coffee drinks (it has caffeine in it).

I'll definitely have to try that variety pack for my low carb diet before surgery! Get a feel for what I like more. I shop at Sam's club and they have cases of the premier shakes but I don't want to commit to anything in bulk until I know what works after surgery.

I also bought a highly-rated bariatric cookbook by Sarah Kent ($10 on Amazon). It helped me feel more optimistic about food post-recovery. I'm going to try some of the recipes before surgery to know what I like now and not when I'm hangry.

Great idea! I am definitely not a cook, but I understand that has to change ASAP. I found one for sleeve patients by the same author and will start on it today.

RNY on 2/8 for me! I am worried there will be a delay due to COVID numbers, but hopeful.

One question for everyone...you going to use a post-surgery Abdominal binder? Getting very mixed messages about those.

I'm having my surgery done through my insurance provider, and they're sending me home with a binder. I'll give it a shot and see if it's helpful.

I'm getting the bypass on Feb. 21st. I'm also concerned that it could end up being pushed back. I've been preparing for months, which also means I've stopped taking a medicine for my psoriatic arthritis and it's getting very difficult. I've lost 20 lbs. though.

I'm mostly off of caffeine and carbonation (I've had it on occasion, but very rarely- it's just not part of my daily life any more). I don't cook, so I still struggle with what I'm eating. I just have a few go to foods and eat a lot less. i need a better meal plan. I'm well stocked with Protein drinks/powders/waters that have helped me though.

I have Ankylosing Spondylitis, we take a lot of the same meds as PA peeps. I’m curious as to what they’ve had you stop taking. My meds have all been okayed.

Factors Affecting the Growth of the Alternative Sweeteners Industry:
Health Consciousness: The increasing awareness among individuals about the health issues linked to high sugar consumption, such as obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases, is supporting the market growth. Consumers are becoming more health-conscious and seeking products that can provide sweetness without the negative health effects associated with sugar. This shift in consumer preferences is leading to a greater demand for low-calorie and natural sweeteners like stevia, monk fruit, and erythritol. These sweeteners offer the added benefit of having minimal impact on blood glucose levels, making them suitable for diabetic and health-conscious individuals.
Technological Advancements: Innovations in the production and formulation of alternative sweeteners are impelling the market growth. Advancements in biotechnology and food science are leading to the development of high-intensity sweeteners with improved taste profiles and functional properties. Innovations in fermentation processes enhance the production efficiency and quality of natural sweeteners like stevia and monk fruit. These technological improvements are making alternative sweeteners more appealing to both manufacturers and consumers. Enhanced stability, solubility, and sweetness intensity allow these sweeteners to be used in a wide range of products, ranging from beverages to baked goods.
Consumer Trends and Preferences: Evolving consumer trends and preferences are playing a significant role in driving the alternative sweeteners market. The growing demand for clean-label products, which are healthier and free from artificial ingredients, is offering a favorable market outlook. Consumers are increasingly seeking natural and plant-based sweeteners, aligning with broader trends toward plant-based diets and veganism. Besides this, there is an increase in the demand for low-calorie and sugar-free alternatives that support weight management and overall wellness. Food and beverage companies are responding to these trends by innovating and expanding their product lines to include options sweetened with alternative sweeteners, thereby catering to changing tastes and health concerns of modern consumers.
