10 days post up---Dizzy?

Recommended Posts

I am 10 days post op, down 22 lbs and doing great---pain gone after 5 days and actually enjoying the diet.

Have been really dizzy last few days, was thinking it was dehydration, but dr thinks blood pressure may be dropping and with weigh dropping fast, may be causing issues.

Anyone experiencing this?

I used to experience that the first few months when I got up too quickly (happens to a lot of people) - that's blood pressure related, too. But yes - dizziness can definitely be related to low blood pressure.

If you are on any blood pressure meds, you may need a lower dose. I was dizzy for a while after surgery, probably low blood pressure (mine has always been on the low side, but was normal at my heaviest, now it's low again). I ended up passing out last week and messing up my ankle when I fell, but I think that may have been a reaction to the booster shot. Definitely sit down if you're feeling dizzy!

Dehydration

Could be dehydration, could be blood pressure, could be both (and dehydration can cause low BP).

I was taken off one of my BP meds the day after surgery and the other one I went off about 4 weeks later—and my BP without any meds is never above 125/80 now. So it could be that.

This happened to me 1-1.5 weeks before surgery. I was on 2 BP meds. But maybe due to the weight I lost during the pre-op, or maybe due to the liquid diet (low sodium maybe).. my BP started to go super low (~90.60), I stopped both BP meds, and my BP went up to normal...

Have you checked your BP?

I had that problem as well, dizzy spells the first 2 weeks but out of nowhere it stopped. The only thing that helped me was eating sugar free popsicles.

They sell BP cuffs at Walmart that are pretty reasonable. They also have the machines at some stores depending on how often you are there or how convenient that is. I would definitely check it a couple times just to make Sure it is not dropping too low.

I agree with above. Try more fluids, but also take extra precautions in case of fainting

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
