I’m almost 6 months post op VSG. At surgery my BMI was 35. I’m 5’9 and in my mid 40’s. I have hypothyroidism/Hashimoto’s. I may be a slow loser but I’m incredibly happy with my surgery

I am just over two months post op and I have lost 52.8 pounds. It’s not as rapid as it was in the beginning, but definitely the scale is only going down. I also have been exercising plenty.

Very impresive. Not sure you should lose any faster than that. Congrats!

I’m 3 1/2 months post op. I only had 2 days of pre-op liquid diet. So I don’t remember how much I lost. I lost some but don’t count it. From surgery date, I’ve lost 54 lbs. I’m averaging about 10 lbs a month. And I’m very happy with my progress.

I am hoping to lose 15-20 for the first 3 months. 10 pounds a month after that would be AWESOME!

I lost a total of 45 in the first three months post-op. With the 15 from my pre-op diet I was down 60 pounds at 90 days post-op. It was crazy, but the biggest changes in how I look have happened since then. People literally do not recognize me...even when I tell them who I am. It is bizarre.

This is what I am doing . 1) food Journal- I record EVERYTHING I eat or drink. Tracking Calories, fat, Proteins, carbs. and total them up daily. I try my best to keep my Protein above 75, and calories below 800, carbs below 30, fat below 25. I'm doing very well on reaching these goals, it fluctuates from day to day , but on a monthly average it evens out. My first month I lost a great deal, now averaging about 1/2 a day.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
