for sweet there are a lot sugar free candy options some chocolate or regular candy. Even sugar free Desserts. just remember portions. for vegetables personally before this I really disliked. so i found out vegetables in the oven with a little of olive oil garlic and onion or whatever choice of spice comes out great. Mixed them like broccoli and carrot is great. cut up squash made the same way is good. Even sweet potatoes taste amazing with that recipe. as for crunchy and salty cravings there are a lot of crackers that you can eat just look at the back. for calories, fat, sugar, and sodium especially . (that goes for all foods really lol ) My doctor said Total fat has to be 5% or less.

I do a lot of casserole type things. For example, this week I did "Eggroll in a bowl" - it's ground meat (I used turkey), cabbage, carrots, onions, garlic, ginger, fish sauce, soy sauce, and a little rice wine vinegar. I added a little cooked rice as well.

Another favorite is a veggie au gratin: cauliflower, broccoli and leek with greek yogurt, dijon, thyme and cheese. I add in sliced dinner sausage to give it more Protein.

One more: An easier version of stuffed peppers. Ground chicken, quinoa, onions, tomatos and spices in a cooked bell pepper (or just dice the bell peppers in) and add a little pepper jack cheese.

My diet is pretty simple too. I’ve always had issues with spicy, rich or fatty foods so that narrows a lot of my food choices.

I love my vegetables so asparagus, green Beans, cabbage, broccolini, cauliflower, sugar snap peas (lots of green veg, no potato) were added back to my diet as soon as I was able to tolerate them. I love them plain. Microwaved with a splash of Water & a teaspoon of butter till they still had bite then add salt & pepper. Mind you to begin I could only eat a small cauliflower floret or a couple of green beans.

I added fruit pretty early on too. Watermelon, berries, red paw paw, grapes, rockmelon, apple, mandarin, lychees, cherries, mango. One small serve as an afternoon snack. I usually have two serves a day now.

I cut out as much sugar, sugar substitutes & artificial sweeteners as I could out of my diet. Fruit is what I go to for something sweet. Watch dried fruit though. One prune is a plum. Two dried apricots is an apricot. It’s easy to eat 3 or 4 prunes but would you eat 3 or 4 plums at one time.

For crunch & salt try rolling a chunk of cucumber in crushed sea salt. Easy & extremely low calorie. Even the odd teaspoon of peanut paste works. Try some hummus with some raw green beans, carrot, celery, etc. Guacamole with vegetable crudités works too. Make your own guacamole & hummus so you can control the ingredients.

I have a pretty simple and unexciting diet as well most of the time. As far as getting vegetables incorporated into your diet, before my surgery I basically did not eat any vegetables. I highly recommend getting some Brussel sprouts and cutting them in half, placing them on a baking sheet and drizzling them with a little olive oil and then sprinkle with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Bake at 375 for ~40 minutes. They are delicious!

I am feeling the same, I was sleeved on 4 January. Today I am back on track thanks to planning. Breakfast is a very thick smoothie with a fruit of choice, frozen is fine, tasteless Protein, zymil milk low fat (lactose free) some oats and juice from tinned pears.

Lunch will be steamed to death veges and a scrambled egg.

Dinner is half a chicken thigh and mashed pumpkin.< br>
I try to have natural protein sources at every meal where possible, or add tasteless prot powder.

Are you still trying to lose weight? Or are you looking to maintain?

Ok, so I see you are at 4 months out?

When I was at 4 months out I was just not into sweet stuff so can't help you on ideas there, BUT i was all about salty stuff (probably because I had pretty low blood pressure at the time, and likely not drinking enough water).

My go-to salty snack at 4 months PO was beef Jerky (even had a ziploc of some I carried around in my purse all the time). Also deli turkey with cheese (but not in my purse, lol). My food diary also shows that anchovies and canned smoked oysters were a regular occurrence (but I realize these may not be everyone's bag, lol)

Once in maintenance my fave salty-crunchy snack was chicharron (i.e., pork rinds/cracklins), but I wouldn't recommend this during weight loss phase as its really high in calories (but also high in protein!).

Good Luck!

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
