After a life of activity and adventure, naughtiness and niceness, I'm 48, settled and very happily married in a blended family. I have a great job, a beautiful home, and have thrown away the use of alcohol completely. I thought it was going to be the miracle cure to my up and down weight journey, but no.
It's the same old story, I've tried everything under the sun. Weight Watchers, Keto, Isagenix, all with temporary relief to my body of the weight it's carrying. I've spent the last year researching and understanding bariatric surgery options, is it for me? Yes. The first visit to the surgeon sealed the deal.
Why are you here?
......isn't it obvious.....
But why are you here....?
.....because what I eat isn't bad, it's just huge volume, I can't find any motivation, I have sweat where I've never had it before, I have lost all desire for intimacy, I get headaches every day, I have early onset arthritis, I have mechanical spine and hip issues due to my weight...
Right, good answer. Let's look at the options for you.
So what we came to was the sleeve gastrectomy. The volume of food will be reduced and it's a permanent solution with rapid weight loss. If I don't do something soon I am going to end up not being able to walk.
I'm excited and scared. I have only just had my first appointment with the surgeon last week and bingo, it's booked for 5 weeks from now. Whaaaaaaat!!! So soon.....good job. It doesn't give me a chance to back out.
So wish me luck. I'm glad I found this forum, it will be good bed time reading as I'm recovering.
