I was suppose to go in tomorrow the 19th and they just called and said anesthesia isn’t happy with my ekg so it looks like my surgery is getting postponed. Might be good considering the snow falling right now and the over hour drive. Still very disappointed especially that they waited until the day before to tell me or call! 😥

Gastric sleeve scheduled a week from now, on the 25th. I'm in Sweden but originally from Canada so joining here because it's an English speaking forum. Good luck to everyone who is getting their operation done or who has just recently done it this month!

If you don’t mind me asking why was yours postponed? I always have abnormal ekgs for everything. I’ve been to a cardiologist many times and they say my heart is fine. Now the ekg is showing changes and they did not make me see one prior and waited until now to tell me. I have a family history of heart disease as my dad died from a heart attack but I am still fairly young. I know that doesn’t mean anything. For now I am just frustrated. I had the lapband for 10 years and did so well with it and had it removed in an emergency surgery right before covid. Between those two things and losing my job I put on a lot of weight in a year. It’s a discouraging situation right now.

Me too! Trying to work my way into the pre-op diet. I figure this is my test week.

We are soooo close! I'm feeling some nerves, but overall am ready to get this done and move into the next chapter.

Three more sleeps until surgery day! Tomorrow I do my covid test, the next day I get my surgery time, and the day after - it's done! This has been a multi-year journey, a couple years of contemplation, then a full year of active participation in my clinic's program. Hard to believe it's finally happening.

@Beccs2011 and @LisaZar I see we are surgery day pals - wishing you both the best of luck!

I had my gastric sleeve done on Thursday. I’m not so much in pain as I am in discomfort. It’s difficult to drink the minimum amount of liquid. My fiancé bought fast food for himself yesterday and the smell of it almost made me gag.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
