I had an arm lift surgery. I have a tiny bit of hair in my pits but honestly it was easier to shave with my concave pits than it is now.

I heard people had difficulty with this so I avoided anything super cold in the hospital. I just had my surgery Friday. I let anything super cold sit in my mouth. Today (Sunday) I am drinking ice water and was able to have a sugar free popsicle. I think everyone is different unfortunately. I was scared to try cold things but was dying for something cold so I just tried it and was lucky. I’ve always been able to drink with absolutely no issues since my surgery on Friday. Hope this turns around for you and it’s only temporary!

I haven’t even had my surgery yet and I’m worried about the what have I done thoughts. I had the lapband over 10 years ago and had it removed in 2019 and I remember having those thoughts with that.

Does anyone else feel ignored or isolated from people who don’t want to accept your choice to have WLS or don’t want to take the time to understand your reasonings? Do people feel ignored on here as well sometimes?

I had my first surgery in 2018 and the second in 2019. I then had my lapband removed, had weight regain and now will be having the sleeve in April. My arms still look fine but when I’m ready to have another surgery down the road I’ll discuss it with him.

I had a surgery a couple years ago that required a drain and let me tell you getting that out will be heaven! Thinking of you. I’m a former lapband patient going to get my sleeve here soon. I had been scheduled in February and it got postponed at the last minute. Rest assured I’m thinking of you because drains are no fun but the other side is glory with that aspect.

Can I just say I’ve had multiple belly surgeries and no date on the reschedule for my sleeve yet but the gas pain is sometimes the worst. But walking definitely helps. Get to moving even little bits as much as you can is beneficial! Wishing you the best! Can’t wait to get my date!

If you don’t mind me asking why was yours postponed? I always have abnormal ekgs for everything. I’ve been to a cardiologist many times and they say my heart is fine. Now the ekg is showing changes and they did not make me see one prior and waited until now to tell me. I have a family history of heart disease as my dad died from a heart attack but I am still fairly young. I know that doesn’t mean anything. For now I am just frustrated. I had the lapband for 10 years and did so well with it and had it removed in an emergency surgery right before covid. Between those two things and losing my job I put on a lot of weight in a year. It’s a discouraging situation right now.

I was suppose to go in tomorrow the 19th and they just called and said anesthesia isn’t happy with my ekg so it looks like my surgery is getting postponed. Might be good considering the snow falling right now and the over hour drive. Still very disappointed especially that they waited until the day before to tell me or call! ?

What kind of shoes did everyone wear to the hospital? I’ve always worn sandals to any surgery because they are easy to get on and off but my surgery is next Friday and we have lots of snow where I am. I want something slip resistant for walking in the hospital. Any suggestions? Thanks! ❤️

Anyone have some words of encouragement? I’m scheduled the 19th of February. I had the lapband in for almost 10 years and it was removed in October 2019. Anyone that’s had it done of what to expect more than what the doctors tell you? I’m so scared. I’m so scared I’ll fail. Or I’m making the wrong choice but I know I need to do this. I did really well with the lapband so the doctors are confident I’ll be fine with the sleeve. The fact that it’s permanent scares me.

My surgery is the 19th. I have to be on a 2 week low calorie diet which is basically a liquid diet of water, 3-4 protein drinks a day and 6 servings a day from a list of things like sugar free jello/pudding, 8oz of milk, unsweetened applesauce, a packet of oatmeal, etc. I worry it’ll be a struggle and be very rough. It’s amazing how every doctor/surgeon has different requirements. I was in a class in December where all 3 of us are going to have the gastric sleeve. 2 of us with the same surgeon were required to go on this diet 2 weeks prior to surgery and the 3rd person who had a different surgeon did not have to have any diet prior to surgery. Best of luck! My nerves are really kicking in! I had the lapband 10 years ago so this is not my first surgery.
