What are you eating? Are you tracking your daily intake and macros no matter whether you're pre-op or post-op?

Share your macros. Here's what I ate yesterday:

Calories: 1075

Carbs: 24

Protein: 128

Fat: 56

Sugars: 9

Yeah, I know the "fat" looks high, but hubby and I are doing the "Carnivore Diet" right now, more rigid form of Keto with focus on Protein and fats and reduction of carbs and sugars.

Tell us what you're eating.

I went slightly over my range yesterday (my maintenance range is 1500-1700), and ate more than my usual number of carbs as well, but here are my stats from a couple of days ago, which is more normal for me. Keep in mind I'm 5.5 years out and in maintenance. I never would have eaten like this when I was in weight-loss mode! (in addition to staying in the 1500-1700 calorie range, I also aim for around 100 grams of Protein a day, because I malabsorb it - so getting the usual 60 grams that most WLS'ers eat would make my prealbumin level tank. I no longer count carbs, and I've never counted fat grams)

total calories: 1673

carbs: 170

fat: 61

protein: 113

fiber: 30 (I don't know what my total sugar intake was since i don't have my tracker set up to calculate it)

2+ yrs post op, in maintenance. BMI 21.5 this morning.

Currently trying (albeit, not very hard) to lose the remaining 2.5 lbs from my pandemic weight gain.

Here are the deets from yesterday;

  • 1788 calories (I did go swimming for over an hour yesterday so this was likely reduced)
  • 56g Protein
  • 120g NET carbs (currently addicted to these mushroom "chips" that are padding this number. Sigh)
  • 67g fat
  • edited to add: 50g sugars

Yesterday was my highest calorie day in a week as I’m currently 6 days post op from an internal hernia repair.

853 calories
78g carbs
37g fat
49g Protein

My other post op days were around 250-400 calories because I just was too sick to eat.

Thanks! I’ve spent the last week practically moping around and laying on the couch. Not much else I can do with a 6 inch midline incision. But eating was better today so far. Multigrain crackers and Peanut Butter for Breakfast and salmon and cream cheese for lunch.

This is pretty typical except the carbs are a little higher than usual.

I'm consuming 2070 calories per day. 63 g fat of which only 20 are saturated. 112 g Protein. 115 g sugar of which only 22 are added sugars. I'm running 2 miles per day so I should have a daily 700 calorie deficit.

Hmmm...700 calories burned for 2 miles seems like alot? I was under the impression that the average was 100 cals burned per mile (a little more if u run super fast...)?

In any case, thats awesome u are running every day!

I'm counting 200 calories for running. My height / weight calls for 2600 calories for a male, but I consume 2100. Together I'm running a 700 calorie deficit.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
