Officially 15 days post op woo! Sleeved on 7/2/20. The first week of liquids was pretty rough for me. But I got through it. Almost through full liquids now. I thought I was starting to do well, but these last 2 days have been rough. I keep having this sweet taste in the back of my throat and it keeps me nauseous all day long!! I'm trying to drink plenty of Water and at least get my Protein down. But I'm feeling too sick for anything else 🙃 also having what I believe is kidney stone pain. Very fun!

I guess its just time to keep pushing.

I had my bypass on the 15. Everything went well, although I'm still in pain. If I keep improving like this though I should be fine. Walking has really helped - it is slow and uncomfortable but it is a good thing.
I'm struggling to get in my Water and to eat what the doctor recommended. I'll hang in there and keep pushing. 💪

Hey everyone. Ok so Monday I go for my Covid test. Tuesday I redo my urinalysis which determines if I have surgery or not. I really don’t understand being denied if someone is on antibiotics. I am also asymptomatic. Just going to pray on it. Delayed by covid, Anemia and Hopefully not UTI :(

They put me on a medication to prevent kidney stones for 6 months.

I went thru that the day of my surgery. the nurses on the evening shift were not good at all- I didn't get my spirometer until the next morning when my head practitioner from my bariatric program visited. she was not happy. my nurses that came in in the morning were soooo much better and attentive. hopefully that'll happen for you too

5th time’s the charm! My dayshift nurse today is fantastic and really on top of everything. When I asked about the incentive spirometer, she was appalled that I didn’t get one yesterday and brought me one right away.

Hello everyone hope everyone is doing good especially all us post ops. Listen I had something that just hit the spot today n I thought I would share because I have been struggling a bit I cannot seem to get enough Protein n Fluid in it’s like there isn’t enough time in the day. But I had to drop my child off at work today and there was a Dunkin Donuts on the other side of the highway so I stopped in the drive threw and got a small iced Decaf with sugar free vanilla flavor shot in it. I took it home and added 4 oz of fair life vanilla protein and a half packet of trivia. Oh my gosh it was fantastic. It took me like an hr to drink but it was amazing. Just thought I would share. Talk to you all latter!🙂

Yes! I had my surgery on the 7th and my body still hurts just not as bad. My internal stitch’s are still pulling and burning and causing me a lot of pain still but my shoulders n neck and body ach has gone mostly. I still get exhausted very easy. Showers feel so exhausting that when I’m done I have to rest for at least an hr because I am whipped out. Be ware of sneezing I have done it twice n cried from the pain and laughing also I started to laugh n it ended by crying in pain. Hope you feel better sooner then me! 🙂

Had my sleeve on the 13th. It went well, every day I am feeling less sore and I only had nausea for two days. I’m feeling bummed about the post op liquid diet though, it’s hard to get in the correct amount of fluids and Protein and I miss having regular meals already. And I’m tired and grumpy. Hoping things will be feeling more positive in time as I progress to soft foods and heal.

Well today is hospital release day, I had a horrible day yesterday due to nurse mixup. They have me a juice cup with apple juice that had sugar. I took one sip and knew this was wrong. Within 20 minutes I had dumping Syndrome. 5 hours of running to toilet and shivers. Good lesson to learn. Feel great today. Still bloated but feeling fine. Keep smiling you are worth it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
