What does Botox have to do with a Tummy Tuck? Seems like an odd combination. I only get Botox in my forehead 😆

Botox injections in the stomach for weight loss, its a thing....

I have never heard of that before..... Botox is a temporary thing... well at least on the face. @Hop_Scotchi read the attachment and still don't get it.

I had a tt 8 years ago. With Muscle repair and Lipo of the flanks.

I found this, it explains how it supposedly works https://estetikland.com/en/weight-losing-with-stomach-botox/ ps it written by someone whose first language isn't English

Effects of stomach Botox

Botox is applied to stomach muscles and it is effective on smooth muscles of stomach. Muscles with Botox have decreased contraction capacity. For example, since contraction of stomach muscles that process food in 2-3 hours and discards this processed food in 4-4.5 hours slow down, this process can take up to 10-12 hours. With the help of injection to stomach part where hunger hormone ghrelin is segregated, level of this hormone is significantly decreased. This way, appetite of the patient can be decreased significantly and sense of fullness can be maintained for a long time.

Do you know how expensive Botox is? I pay roughly $1200 to get it in my forehead every 3 months. I can’t imagine how many units something like this would be... I’d imagine thousands of dollars every few months. Seems like a bogus scam invented by someone who wants to take advantage of desperate WLS patients.

I've read about stomach botox for the 1st time here. I did it but for medical purposes. I was suffering from Migraine. I've tried almost everything, drug therapy, therapeutic blockades, manual therapy, physical therapy, but it didn't lead to pain relief. Then I was advised by my friend, who passed training courses at Dr. Hennessy Academy, to try botox treatment. I wasn't afraid to do it since Dr. Hennessy is an industry leader in aesthetics. As my friend explained, botox has a muscle relaxant and analgesic effect (3-6 months). Its local administration into spasmodic muscles leads to prolonged relaxation and breaks the vicious circle of chronic headache formation: muscle spasm-pain-increased muscle spasm, etc. It also blocks the pain receptors of the trigeminal nerve and occipital nerves. So I went for it, and so far, it helps without side effects.

This must be a very new procedure in the USA, I’ve never heard of it. Causing intentional gastroparesis does not sound like a safe idea for numerous reasons. Not to mention this would have to be a very deep injection and the chances of injection the wrong area would be much higher.

Hi! Thanks for starting this discussion on Botox and Tummy Tuck. It's great to hear from people with personal experiences with these procedures.
When it comes to cosmetic treatments, it's important to choose a trustworthy provider, be informed about the potential risks and benefits, and have realistic expectations.

If they are injecting Botox externally in your abdomen they are injecting it in to your abdominal muscles. Your GI tract is controlled by smooth muscles in your stomach, intestines, and colon. These are the muscles that aid in digestion-not your abdominal muscles.

This seems like a medical issue waiting to happen. I would think if food is just sitting in your gut for an extended period could lead to some problems and gas.

I'd say the most important step is consulting with your surgeon and perhaps a dermatologist who specializes in injectables to make sure these treatments won't conflict with each other.

Since you're in the area of cosmetic procedures, you might want to check out places like lip injections santa barbara for a variety of non-surgical options that can complement surgical ones. They may offer insights on combining procedures safely.

Considering your post is from 2020, you might have already moved forward with your plans. If you did, I'd love to hear about your experience as it could benefit others in a similar situation.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
