What do you mean by struggling mentally with LSD?

From reading this site, I think its referred to as head hunger. I do fine during the day while at work, but at home when my family is eating dinner I struggle. I just have to stay strong and power through it. Certainly I'm not the only one who has felt this way, right?

This liquid diet is brutal. Yesterday was worse than today and I'm nearly halfway through. How are you guys doing?

It’s just makes me super tired. I’m hitting my Protein and Water so I just try to keep that in the back of my mind. I try to walk out of the room anytime my husband and or daughter are eating something that I can’t.

Don't even worry about it, just keep on keeping on and it will all be over soon!

I'm having severe cold feet and a bit depressed from lack of food I guess! It's not pretty. Anyone else?

Yeah super nervous. More so about having regrets after than any complications. I lost 10 lbs this month by following the diet. So it gets on my head that I could do this without surgery if I keep doing what I’m doing now. But I also know I’ve told myself this before and it didn’t work.

We're too close to go back now! I suppose we just got to keep our heads low those 2 days and then deal with everything one day at a time.

Best of luck to all!

Exactly! I think we’re going through very normal and predictable experiences here, for your posts above echo mine! All of them! It’s been a very exciting journey, and Yes! I’m ready for it to happen and be over, but it’s like the feelings/experiences, fear of regret, almost a sadness, is today. It helps knowing others are having same...and I trust we will come through this as Happy with our decisions as 99% of others who have gone before us are.

Hugs, prayers and smiles to my WLS siblings!

March 11th here. Super excited (and a little anxious)! I am doing a LSD which isn't much fun but I'm getting through it easier than I thought. At least I can eat something on it! Good luck all, we're almost there!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
