Hey guys! I posted a long thread in the other March 2020 post but wanted to say hey to everyone on here also. Somebody wrote about wanting a cheeseburger and I can definitely concur. I would love some french fries and a hazelnut coffee...lol. So I definitely need to do some mental work! After surgery I'm not physically hungry but mentally is a totally different beast. After the difficulties of the past week I just want to soothe myself with food. Anybody else feeling this way?

@Slimmy-mommeee Girl, you are preaching to the choir here! I was a total foodie! I dream of food lol. I start going back to my therapist next week and I’m excited to discuss these things with her. I may be generalizing but I think a lot of folks with a weight problem also have an emotional connection to food. You are def not alone, I feel you. I keep looking on the mirror now though. I know it’s only been 8days but I already “feel” smaller if that makes sense. Not just physically. It’s weird. Putting out those positive vibes and looking forward to the summer FINALLY this year!

@CammyC lol Yesssss to enjoying the summer! And I feel lighter and smaller. And what's crazy is how much my stomach has deflated in such a short time. I noticed my shirts aren't as tight. These little changes make me even more excited about what's coming.

My surgery is March 25
I hope it is not postponed because of this virus outbreak

it shouldn't impact the surgery schedule.

I feel you big time. VSG on 3/3, and I’m grumpy because I want to EAT. I’m craving a giant portion of pad thai and spring rolls. Wish I could wake up tomorrow and have those comfort cravings vanish. BTW - is anyone in Boston? Would love local support buddies.

I am concerned about the virus, at this point and time it's not in Spokane but was told should that happen I won't be having my surgery!!!

3/3 surgery as well and I'm craving chewing. I'm only craving certain food because I can't have it. I want a Turkey burger slider and some chips or fries. If I could eat unrestricted , I'd have some grilled fish, zucchini and salad - my norm. We are like children, we only want all of those cravings because we can't have any of the other stuff. I'm tired of broth, Premier, full liquids and not chewing...

@Krimsonbutterflies Yes I am cold all of the time now. Before my thermostat was set to 68-71 and I would still be hot. Now it is at 73 and I'm freezing. Keep in mind it's almost 60 degrees outside. Smh

Hello, question to anyone who has had recent surgery. I am 11 days post op and have not had my post op appointment due to the craziness of the Covid-19 virus it was postponed. Since surgery I have had intermittent itching to my stomach, not the laparoscopic incisions, but to my stomach. When I scratch i have little welts that come and go. Has anyone else experienced this?

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
