You have experienced both. Do you feel a difference?

I also feel much less restriction, and that is part of my worry.

IMHO don't chase restriction or fullness. Please set up systems like an exercise routine & sustainable healthy diet (well within your Surgeon's caloric/macro limits) and live it. If you can't do it long term it probably won't work for you.

I have an excercise routine the same one ive been doing the last 3 years, Ive been following a diet for the last 3 years, so obviously I can, but thanks. My comment was about feeling different and how that might affect me. Thanks for your help.

I understand.

I was suggesting that mentally its going to be challenging (but not impossible)since you already experience the shift from greater to lesser restriction & now that the training wheels of restriction is gone, you may have to move forward to another form of structure to continue being successful

very best luck to you ❤

Guess measuring and weighing food will be my guide with the revision if I lose this restriction I have.

Christina,

I am in the exact same position. I literally had to get a sedative from my doctor yesterday because I too am so afraid. I just want my hiatel hernia and reflux fixed. I’ve successfully lost 40 lbs (75 to go) on my own...but I have to do this for the same reasons as you. Please reach out to me as we can benefit from one another I think. Good luck

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
