Before surgery I would use cbd honey to help me sleep. I am currently smoking weed but The honey always helped me sleep better. Did anyone have any issues eating honey after surgery? I don’t wanna buy a $60 honey if I can’t eat it 😂

What does your doctor say - about smoking weed and eating honey? Honey was certainly not on my food list after surgery - nor was any kind of sugar or concentrated carb. My doc would not have done surgery if I had been smoking anything at all. So for me, the answer to your question is an emphatic "No." But it is your doctor's opinion that matters most - not anyone else's.

I would worry about the sugar in the honey causing dumping syndrome...you might try a half dose and see if you tolerate it. There are some CBD products that have no honey in it, maybe try that?

I’m 3 1/2 months post surgery and consume sugar in my tea a couple times a day and eat a few FlaVorIce ice pops (with sugar) each day (it’s hot and humid in Brisbane).

I’ve never experienced dumping.

I remain extremely limited in what I can eat, but sugar hasn’t been an issue, so I doubt honey would be an issue for me.

I honestly can't see how smoking marijuana would make any difference--unless you succumb to the munchies!

So you kicked the addiction to food sugar and carbs and now want to get permission to be stoned and eat Honey Sugar with THC in it?

do me a favor call the doctor and tape the conversation would love to hear that.

Weed is a addiction, yes it has some minor medical help my view is your are transfering your addictive personality to a different item =

However its your life live it

I use it for my pcos and insomnia. I don’t get high then go eat. It was just a question because before a teaspoon or less of honey worked better then weed. And didn’t know if I could get something I know works for try a different cbd product.

Can you get CBD oil? No sugar, and depending on what the manufacturer uses as base oil, calories would range from 5-20 calories per dropperful.

I have a peppermint CBD oil spray, which I've used sporadically for relaxation/sleep and more recently for post-plastics pain management, and it does not make me stoned, nor hungry, nor sick to my stomach.

Edited to add: Also, I would stay away from smoking in the early days as it hampers healing. Though ideally, just stay away from smoking at all ❤️

I tried the non flavored oil from online and not only did it taste awful but didn’t work but it may have just been that company. Are there any websites or places you recommend getting the oils? I was going to try my local co-op.

I'm from Canada, and I got mine from the govertment-operated website which, at the time I bought it, was the only place we can get it legally up here, unless it's doctor prescribed...which mine isn't.

Unless you get some word-of-mouth recommendations from people in your state, you may have to do some trial and error, which may get expensive though...

Is yours prescribed? Can you ask your doctor for recommendations?

P.S. I've tried the non-flavoured oil as well. I am NOT a fan.

P.P.S. Also make sure you look at the percentage of CBD in any product...this may be why your first one didn't work?

Weed's not legal here, but CBD is. There are some oils that are flavored that help remove that "earthy" taste. The cinnamon ones taste much better than the plain.

I talked at length with a CBD distributor at a music festival and asked about so many companies jumping on the CBD bandwagon. It's a new industry without a lot of regulations and quality controls in place yet, so know where you get it from (of course he said HIS company was the best!). So I imagine one brand might work better for you than the other. I doubt the honey doesn't help other than to make it taste better. Be sure to compare the CBD concentration of your product because it's all over the map.

I've never used it, but I hear valerian root helps many people relax and sleep.

I hope you find something that helps you!

Thank you I appreciate the help ❤️ I’ve been looking around and found a company that has good reviews but it’s $200 for a small bottle 😂 so I’ll try the valerian root first never heard of it so hopefully that’ll help

Honey may be trail and error. Perhaps try regular first before the medicinal stuff.

My surgeon didn't want anyone smoking/vaping nicotine products and as for cannabis he said dont tell him (I'm sure for liability sake. 😂)

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
