The hospital where I am having the procedure done has its own health club and you get a free membership after the Dr clears you for surgery.

That's BOMB. The place I'm going is a learning hospital, nothing special. My mom went there when she had the rny so I know they're good.

I feel the same way!!!! My insurance doesn't require a waiting period either and I'm toooo excited! I'm kinda disappointed that the soonest psych appointment is March 3rd, so my paperwork will have to wait to be submitted til then..but I'm excited and I hope it all goes well! Good luck to you!!!!

keep calling them and see if they have any cancellations 🙂

My process was extremely short as I was private pay as well maybe three weeks. My surgeon did not require as many steps as yours... I think it’s OK fast is good I pondered on the surgery for years. I do not regret a single penny or a single moment. Best of luck to you.

I have have been waiting for almost a year for this process to start. I had my first appointment with my surgeon on January 2nd and it went well. My doctor has scheduled the following appointments.

01/28/2020 Physiological Evaluation

02/03/2020 Endoscopy

02/06/2020 Nutrition Visit

02/06/2020 Diet Visit

02/12/2020 Exercise Evaluation

02/18/2019 Pre-Op Classes

The insurance coordinator said as soon as I am done with the Exercise Evaluation they will submit to insurance for approval they said this could take from a few hours to a few weeks to get it back. I have Blue Cross I hope the turn around time will be short. Once insurance approves me they said surgery would be scheduled for 3 weeks after the approval. Thankfully my insurance has no waiting time or mandated diet before surgery. Has anyone else had things move this fast? I am not going to lie I am getting nervous/excited at how fast its all going.

I had my first appt in very early Dec and got my psych eval done, endoscopy, cardiac clearance, and surgery on the 18th of the same month. My insurance approved in less than 24 hours.

Wow! I have BCBS insurance too, but may not be the same plan as yours. One day was the turnaround time on approval for me. Wishing you the best!!

I really hope that once they send it for approval it comes back fast. My plan has no requirements other than a BMI of over 40 or over 35 with health issues. All of these requirements are from the doctor I am going to. I really hope to have this done by the end of February or first part of March.

I have BCBS and I had to do the 6 months. They did say they have to give a decision within a 15 day period of receiving the paperwork from your doctor. In all honesty, I would not have been ready for this if i didn’t go through the 6 months of preparing myself. I am a week and half post op and it’s very hard even with the long preparation. I would suggest giving yourself a few months to prepare before going into surgery. However, do what’s best for you, you know your body and your mindset!

Thanks for your feedback. What has been the hardest part? How was the pain after surgery?

It has hit me today, as I sit in my chair at work that I don't have my belly sticking out to where it would hit the desk. Oh and I can cross my legs more comfortably. It amazes me just how much I have loss in inches vs actual pounds, I have lost 24 lbs all together. But I believe in inches all over about 3 inches. I am noticing more energy and have pep to my step. My skin is a lot clearer. My watch band is shorter by 3 notches. the little things are what I am noticing. When I bend over I don't feel out of breath or I am going to fall over ( weeble wobble).
I am having a hard time with my sweet tooth, it is very hard to not want to get some ice cream or chocolate. Candy I can do without. I have no craving really for that, just chocolate and ice cream. I have gone as far as taking Popsicle and putting them in my mixer with almond milk and making like ice cream with that/ sometimes I have added un-flavored protein powder.
I feel better everyday. The energy is great to have with having younger kids and being able to have the energy to keep up. 😃

If anyone has any advice on how to make your stomach feel better after you eat something you shouldn't have or at too fast, I would GREATLY appreciate it!! It's painful on both sides of my abdomen (like to the point I'm doubled over and using a hot water bottle in addition to medicine) and I'm really nauseous (the thought or smell of food is 🤢).
