Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY

Recommended Posts

Here are my before and during pics (74 lbs down). The first ones (pink top) were taken the day before surgery and I'd just gotten home from the gym when I remembered I needed to take before photos, so I look sweaty and horrible.

Finally back into the mid 170s, after ballooning up to almost 200 during my unfill/revision/healing etc in March/April.

New current pics, old pic is at 260 a few days before the original surgery

I HATE this picture because it makes me look like I have a double chin, so avoid the face and look at the body...lol...

Boo Boo - what a transformation.

You have gone from classic beauty to downright knock-out!

(I love your Warhol-ian signature pic, too!)

OK - it's been 6 months since I posted on this thread. Time for a pic update, although I basically look the same (it's been 3 years but I lost sooooo slowwwwly at first. Took about 15 months to get that band jump-started,) This band is a journey, some of our bodies continue to "tune up" even long after it's done.

Here it is - The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.

Be kind - and remember: "Sagging Can Be Sexy!"

(Or so I tell myself til I have Lipo & boob job, LOL)

THE FIRST YEAR after Banding

Still losing...newsho-albums-b4-s-after-picture3363-im-single-so-i-have-take-my-own-pics-im-look-small-clothes-but-without-them-im-pretty-curvy-remember-i-have-yet-have-any-lipo-here-my-lapband-scars-can-seen-looking-bit-red-i-had-just-had-them-revised-now-they-less-noticeable.jpg ...Lost a bit more11162d1198818865-before-after-lap-band-surgery-pictures-only-bbinbr.jpg

STARTING THE THIRD YEAR:

Earlier in the year, almost got 'too' small, but now it's evened out nicely.

(Hey, I finally figured out how to make the photo links smaller. Hooray! )

All I'm trying to say is - The scale is never the real authority on your progress. It's how you look and how you feel. And also - this band takes you places that you never thought you'd go. Who knew there was a 'skinnier girl' inside me? If I get a "Nip/Tuck" I will be unstoppable! Even without it, I feel pretty good! Enjoy the journey.

Hey everybody I hope this works. This is my progress so far. I started at 340 and am now 263 so I have lost 77 pounds. I have on the same top in all pics so you can see how it is starting to get baggy.

Everybody looks so great! I was feeling good about myself today, so thought I would post pictures again:

Dark sweater was Christmas 2005 (about 350 pounds), yellowy blouse was one month before surgery in August of 2007 (about 310 pounds) and the white/green top is today at 185 pounds.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
