I have a long work day today - I’ll be teaching screen printing tonight. Which, it’s not my medium of choice, but I do know how, so it will be fine. Ok, I’m looking forward to it. I haven’t taught in a while, and love it.

So, today’s outfit is comfy, but still professional-ish. The silk shirt I found second hand (like most of my clothes). It drapes great, though, and I did some small modifications to it to make the fit a bit better. Really I just hemmed it because it was having trouble with my hips and my butt, really due to my being short. It’s loose everywhere else.

I wish I could be in your screen printing class. What fun.

I'm trying to change my pose when taking pictures, lol! I did a thing, I got my first ever tattoo. I'm a sudden cardiac arrest survivor and date signifies the day of my life changing event.

Love all of this!

I’m a breast cancer survivor and I’m thinking I’m going to modify my tattoo to have a pink ribbon round through it with my year of diagnosis.

We all can Celebrate how awesome clothes make us feel now, but the most important boon we get is better health and quality of life.

CONGRATS on surviving

The pants are from Chico's.... size OR... (size 4) and the top is from H&M size XS.... Only because it's a sweater.

I’m channeling my inner sheribear and wearing fun printed exercise pants. With the obnoxious pink shirt that doesn’t quite match 😂 And the pink hair. I’m going running in the woods after my dr appts. This morning, and somehow I think they’d find me if I got lost in this getup. These aren’t the shoes I’ll be wearing. My trail runners are bright green, but also covered in mud, so that tones it down a bit.

Love it Angie!

Okay, so here is my OOTD- workout style for Tuesday.

Love this top that I got off of ETSY, and today I will be hating on that magic circle.

Also, I’m thinking my 51yo old lady arms are looking fairly toned in spite of the extra skin hanging around.

Cause most days, like today, I'm wearing some variation of sweats/leggings, t shirt & fuzzy socks. Today I went the extra mile and covered it all up w a fuzzy robe!

Ah, sitting here in my new oversized flannel pajama while reading this, ROFL.

Everyone looks fantastic, and I’m like you @Sillykitty but I’m more timid than you. I tried on the houndstooth Old Navy pants and went...nope!

At my age maybe it’s best if I just lay low. Lol

dammit, I scrolled up, now I want your coat.

I’m seriously considering getting this dress: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WLD1S9Y/?coliid=I31MSVXBH5VK8F&colid=3J3C3D0WO9X39&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

The pleats/rouching at the stomach makes me hopeful that it would be a bit forgiving in that area? Or I can always be rescued by shapeware.

I also have a zillion new fun belts in my cart, Silly Kitty. Amazon is awesome for finding fun ones. They verge on costume, but that’s my taste anyway, so whatever.

I have nearly the same dress

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JB6DSFZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&th=1&psc=1

It's a great dress, but it's pretty unforgiving in the tummy area. The ruching looks nice, but hides nothing :( If you're ok with that, then I think the darker the dress, the more camouflaging it will be.

No fun clothes for me either. 😭

Thank goodness it's winter and no one cares

You look pretty damn sexy and svelte to me winter bunny! Look at that little figure taking shape... pretty red nails, too. Don't you just love that color for all seasons.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
