update on my follow up appointment. I had a couple of internal stitches coming up, so she was able to remove them. She was also worried that my scar was a little to big, so she put steri-strips on it to take the stress off the actual scar. those will stay on for 2 weeks. After that, she wants me to put silicone sheets on it. She also scheduled for me to get a revision done. I have a "dog ear" on one hip and she wants to tighten up my upper pubic area. She can do this in her office under local. It is scheduled for May 21st. That will give time for the swelling to go down. Overall, she was very pleased. Also, no more binder for me. Yeah. lol

Neal: Glad your doc is so on top of things, but sorry you have to be tweaked! Have you started back to work and how are things going? Do you have pain and mobility? Just trying to gauge how long I'll be a hunchback! LOL.

I started back this past Monday, so i was off for 3 weeks. I am still tender, but have been off pain meds for about a week and a half except for night to help me sleep. I was hunch backed for about a week and a half. You seem to be doing well. Glad to hear

I havent posted in quite a while, but here are my 9 week post op pics. The warmer weather inspired me to do swim suit pics. I still looks swollen, but these are MEDIUM. Never would have imagined that I could wear a medium. I also have more pics in the link in my signature. This will be the first year I don't have to wear the fat mans tee-shirt to the pool. Looking forward to it.

Looking good Neal - looks like you're healing fast. I see its been 2 months now, do you feel back to normal? I mean as far as stretching and exercising, stuff like that?

Thanks to everyone.

Steph, I am about 90% I think. I can run, play basketball, and everyday things just fine. I still feel very tender at time if I turn or strtch certain ways. Its the mucsle repair that makes it that way. The inscision feels 100%.

Thanks for the reply Neal. My goal is to waterski, I'm hoping if I have my tt May 1st that by the end of summer I'll be able to get up. I haven't skiied in 30 years, I know it takes alot of arm and leg strength but I'm afraid the tummy might feel it too.

Neal: You're looking good. The belly button looks to be healing well. Isn't it great to feel normal!? As far as exercise, I feel the same way as you. I'm probably back about 90%. Still have lots of little tweaks in the muscle repair. Patience! So hard! Anyway, you're looking great. KUDOS!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
