I got the call this afternoon. I check into the hospital at 10:30 am on Monday, 6/10. Surgery is scheduled for 12:30 pm. I’ll update you all when I am coherent! Pray for me and send good thoughts for a great surgical team, smooth surgery, no nausea and vomiting, no problems with gas, ability to walk and relieve gas, minimal pain from surgery and relief from arthritis with new meds post surgery, and smooth sailing with the post op diet. Excited and nervous and ready!✝️🙏🏾😳😁

All done! I was pleasantly surprised how it went. Have been able to walk, drink, sleep a little bit, pee, etc! No real nausea or weakness. Just some sharp pains where the drain is placed if I move too quickly. Staff here have been incredible. Get to go home in a few hours. I hope everyone else is doing well.

That's so awesome...I pray that the rest of your recovery just as smooth. :)

Happy Friday Everyone,

Day 2 of being at home. I am starting to feel my usual self.☺️

I don't have much of an appetite. So I am just drinking mostly Water and tea and having an occasional s/f popsicle. The tenderness in my abdomen area is slowly going away. I weighed myself this morning ( I know I wasn’t going to do this until next week😏) and came in at 217. So all the extra gases, liquids, etc have taken a permanent vacation.😄

I noticed others mentioning having issues with GERD. For me, I notice that if I try to take a gallup instead of a sip then it comes back up as a big ol’ air pocket.😲 So sipping will be the thing to do. Have a Great Friday, Everyone!!!! And to all my other June Brothers and Sisters, I anxiously await your arrivals on the other side. Good Luck

I so enjoy reading your posts :)

Happy Saturday Everyone,

Day 3 of being stuck inside. I have kept the time by watching some of the movies I recorded during the week. Like the Misfits, Curse of Frankenstein and Cat on A Hot Tin Roof. Yup, the Purpledva is into Classic Hollywood. The Golden Age of Hollywood had its problems but they had style and class too.

I must be honest Clear Liquids are becoming quite old, quickly. And the need to have something more substantial is becoming rampant. I equate it to being a vampire during the series of True Blood. The hunger is fierce and will sometimes not make you such a nice person. I checked my blood sugar levels earlier today and they had dropped to 65 which is not the greatest. So, I opted for some fruit juice and now my readings are back to normal.

I am starting ask myself did I make the right decision by opting to have surgery. I mean, I am a social creature and the weather is so nice outside, etc. But I have to keep reminding myself that Rome was not built in a day. So I will gradually look to Soup to ease my fears/hungers. I haven’t been out walking, etc. Because I wanted to give myself time to really heal. So over the next week, I will be still taking it easy and gradually incorporating a walk or two in the coming week.

The Struggle is Fierce but the rewards are so worth it!!!

Same on the questioning. I was doing great until I wasn't. Why did I choose this? I know it will get better. I'm just impatient.

That's the most exciting part. The victories that involve our babies! My daughters are 6 and 3. I haven't mentioned my surgery to them but I plan to have a talk with them beforehand since we'll be away from each other while I'm in the hospital.
That’s what I’m most looking forward to. Taking my kid on some rides at the amusement park. I won’t try right now bc I don’t want to be told I don’t fit and feel ashamed.

My reflux is feeling better on the omeprazole.

I have no physical hunger right but head hunger is real. The idea of food sounds good.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
